Default 991.2 COBB owners feedback

I've read that Cobb tunes tend to have issues, how is the experience so far?

Cheers.

I think we are on the same boat. My car pulls tons of timing, some even up to -8.4. Cobb will probably just tell you to go to protune cause this is what they told me.
I still have the UC401 code on my pdk and can't get rid of it.

Well thats disconcerting to say the least, do you have any mods on your car?. I'm not going pro tune for $1200, after paying for the tune, and undisclosed ecu pull and reinstall fee by their certified install shop, at this point if this is the level of support, then I guess this might be a major mistake. What's worse is no communication since last Friday :I .

Ask mitch at Dyno Spectrum to tune your car. It's not $1200.. it's cheaper than that.

Yes
i got fabspeed header, sports cat, ipd plenum and akrapovic exhaust. But I’m surprise your car pulled that much timing with sports cat. I suppose you live in the states right? I’m in Canada and only have some bad gas here so a protune is probably needed to get rid of the knock.

can you post your datalog so we can take a look?

The way I have been reading all of this is that the Cobb tune has issues. There are many threads discussing the timing pull issues.

I think the Giac might just be the more usable tune here

Thats an extremely generalized and potentially misleading comment. There's varying degrees of tuning and modification that's being discussed in the threads you are talking about.

Its also worth considering there's dozens of COBB users every 1 of GIAC's. The issues being discussed in this thread should be taken up directly with COBB's support team for a resolution or perhaps money back if the OP continues to have issues.

Yeah, I'm not out to bash Cobb, I'm just a little frustrated due to the lack of communication, their rep told me to just install Map 1 91 octane for now, which I did. Here are a couple logs, one is Stock flash and then stage 1, 93 octane.

Perhaps but I see nothing wrong with the OP’s comments or mine.

There have been numerous posts regarding concerns with the Cobb OTS tune with and without exhaust and intercooler modifications on base, S and GTS turbo configurations.

I don’t believe anything regarding a vendor should be held back on a forum. Just a personal opinion.

I have it on my 991.2 c4s, so far so perfect and I've got sport cats. Don't forget the parameters are different on the base vs s vs Gts motors for engine and trans warning lights/issues.

No issues at all with my Carerra T on Cobb on stage 1, 2 or pro tune (all 93 octane). Mine is a 7spd, I have heard of some issues with PDK cars and throwing codes/rough shifting.

When you log your car, what kind of timing correction are you seeing on the cylinders?. Mine seems to be mostly on low rpm low load, im not entirely sure if its normal, I don't want to run it and run the risk of seriously damaging the engine. Odd thing is, I’m seeing timing pull even after adding race gas. I still have about 3.5 gallons left, I might dump it all in and see how the car is reacting.

I ran COBB in my Subaru days and every single OTS map would pull timing and detonate. Unless going for a protune, I would NOT run any Cobb OTS tunes.

I wonder how many are running COBB OTS maps, pulling timing and detonation and don't even know it. Big numbers dont mean happy motor.
