I have 2015 RHD Euro spec car but it doesn't have Bose
Does anyone know the size of the speakers in the front doors ?
I would like to fit Focal speakers and JL Amp or any other suggestions

I believe the woofers on the doors are 8 inches or 203mm and 100mm or almost 4 inches for the mid-range speakers for a 991.

Hi getting a plan together for an install
Focal mid and tweeter Blam 8" bass driver
JL Amp with DSP
Does anyone know where to find schematic of small black plug in the factory amp, to see if there are low line signals.
Also if its possible to use these wires will parking sensors etc be audible through speakers
An alternative would be to use a JL loc unit if the factory amp outputs a full signal

I've done a similar thing. I used a Mosconi D2 80.6 (because it fitted) and Audison Prima speakers with Dynaudio tweeters and a Rockford Punch sub-amp with a Focal BE 130 as a subwoofer

If you don't want to cut the harness (I didn't) your big problem is the two connectors to the amplifier. The small black one fits into a AMP 1-967250-1 plug - readily available. I made a little PCB board for this, but you can solder wires on if you wish. The big connector isn't available (it's also an AMP but it's restricted to Porsche - you can't buy it as far as I could make out). So I made up one of these from Delrin (acetal) and used 2.5mm pins. The other alternative is to find something that plugs into them and use that (the guy in the thread referenced above did this).

I mounted both amps and the adapters onto a 3mm aluminium plate and fitted it into the cavity where the original amp was fitted. The problem I have is that have the cavity is half occupied by a tracker - not easy to get out! - and that's why I had to use the smallest amp I could find. Still, the Mosconi is an excellent choice.

You probably also need to take the power directly from the power distributor - there's a highly convenient unused 80A fuseway there.

I think I've still got the dimensions and hole placing for the aluminium plate and the subwoofer/woofer/mid adapters somewhere but I cant seem to lay my hands on them just now.

I have just started my mini Bose Upgrade.

I started with the Musicar Tweeter and a JL powered SUB mounted on the rear shelf.

I recently found this MOST to RCA/Analog Converter and ordered one.

I found a 32pin Porsche Wiring kit on ebay which looks like the correct interface for the harness so I can create my own PNP harness. I just received the harness and hoping it's the correct plug, I will update as I move forward with the install.

I understand that the 3" mid and the Tweeter are wired inline with a passive crossover installed on the tweeter by Musicar, so I will run one channel through those two speakers and one channel to the woofers in the door. I know that the stock bose OEM woofers are 1 ohm, so my amp may not like them, but we'll see. If I can't get good results with the stock mids and woofers in the door, I will then go ahead and research good options for those replacements.

The final goal here is to create a solid Stereo 2.1 system. I already disconnected the stock sub, center channel and don't care if I lose the rears. I don't have any fancy DSP, but I am hoping this will give me improved stereo results while not breaking the bank. I will lose my OEM integrated phone functionality, but I did the Apple Carplay retrofit which has it's own integrated phone system, so no losses here.

UPDATE, so I installed everything this evening. Things went relatively pain free. The Trioma MOST to Analog converter works great and at half the cost of a Mobridge. I was able to get a clean low level signal into the JL amp and used the above wire diagram to create a plug and play harness using the Bose Bypass wiring kit for older Porsches (987's etc). Overall there is a huge improvement over the Bose Amp, even with the stock door speakers. I may upgrade the door speakers in the future and add sound deadening to the doors, but for the total cost $250 for the MOST to RCA adapter, $300 for the amp and about $80 dollars in misc wiring and wiring kits I am super happy. What's nice is all the wiring under the passenger seat is complete to add a DSP or upgraded amp in the future if I go that route.
