Default Cost to Replace Change Over Valves

I have a cooling system fault message and my heat stopped working a few months ago. Talking with a shop and they said likely 2 change over valves need to be replaced and a wiring harness. Said the parts are inexpensive but a lot of labor involved because the rear bumper needs to come off. For others that had similar service done, how much did it cost? The quote I received is $1200. Thanks.

No need to remove the bumper depending on the COV being replaced. The valves are less than $50 each retail. Their were some wiring adapters required for the latest versions of valves. The price quoted is extreme even if all valves need replaced (and they shouldn't). Even a P-car dealer will likely charge less...

The rear bumper is a level 2.5 degree of difficulty task... yeah > there are some 26 torx screws > but all accessible .. you tube it . it's not major > and if you replace the serpentine belt > your air filters.. both tasks require rear bumper removal.. dealer is throwing bs on you

I paid $700 to replace the CO valve for the heat. That included the wiring harness. Parts were $140. That was at a Porsche dealer.

Thanks, I will let you know where this ends up. For some reason, the Chicago area dealers and repair shops always seem to charge much more than what I see here.

I paid $1700 to get all 8 changeover valves replaced. Parts and labor total.
