Default Carrera T Steering Wheel Options?

Just a quick question here guys. I ordered the "GT Sport Steering Wheel and Gear Lever Alcantara®" and in the configurator, it looked like this:

But it arrived like this with all the button do-dads and "stuff".

Is this a North American / Canada thing? In the Video here of a Euro build it's what I was expecting! Can anyone post pics of your steering wheel? Thanks in advance...

You also must have checked the option for the multi function wheel (which is awesome imo). If you prefer the buttonless look, I have a set of stock inserts that are available as I changed mine to the multifunction buttons/wiring.

Stock non multifunction

Multifunction inserts and wiring (had to change the control module also)

Finished product (I liked the black buttons rather than the silver)

Great pics. Tx. Looks like a bit of a wiring job.

I'll check with the dealership, but we did not have the PCM delete either, as a backup camera is now law here in Canada. So perhaps it's all standard affair and, gasp, the configurator lied!!

Thanks for your offer - I may take you up on that as I prefer the clean look of the GT wheel. I'll lose some functionality but I'm not concerned. I'll still have Apple CarPlay on the screen.

Np glad I can help. It’s possible that the Canadian market got more standard/euro goodies (thinking e36 m3 vs what the us market got). The wiring wasn’t too bad-plug and play but just had to take everything apart. Let me know if you want the inserts, I will give them to you for a good deal along with the stock harness so you don’t have extra wires flopping around in your wheel. You should be able to sell your multifunction buttons for some decent coin also.

Black buttes are from what model? They look great. And that is from someone who hates buttons on any steering wheel.

They are from a Macan but they are also available on other models (not sure which ones). eBay is where I picked mine up.

Say - before you added the multi-function buttons, how did you flip through the screen to the far right of the tach? Do you have an extra / 4th stalk on the right hand side of the steering column? I only have 3, 2 on the left and 1 on the right.

Correct-there is an extra 4th stalk on the column. I kept it on there even with the multifunction controls (they both work).

Dang it - that's the piece I don't have. So unless I add the 4th stalk, I lose all function of that screen. Email into dealership...

Update. As it turns out, in Canada, the multi-functional steering wheel was a standard, non-deletable, option on all CT's (which I find odd given the ethos of the car). Is your's a CT? Was this a US option?

Definitely an option on US cars. Combined and exclusively with heated wheel. I would have liked to have the heated wheel but didn't want the buttons.

The heated multi-function wheel was an add-on.
The smaller wheel ("GT Sport Steering Wheel and Manual Gear Lever in Alcantara") without buttons was a ($910!) add-on. And, that's what I went with.
A leather non-button wheel was the standard.
