Default Apple CarPlay Usb to lighting connector (USB Smartphone Connection Cable)

Hi All,

Quick question for anyone with a 991.2 GTS. Does this USB Smartphone Connection Cable come with the vehicle?

Picture shown here. Thanks. https://www.suncoastparts.com/mm5/me..._Code=USBCABLE

Nope. It’s just a coiled usb cable - buy that if you like or choose your favorite lightning / usb cable and use that.

I have had two of the "Porsche" USB to Lightning cables blow out on me. I've been happily using standard run of the mill cables since. I think that it's the hinged USB side that eventually caused both of the coiled cables to fail.

New 991 owner here. Amazon has 1ft and 3ft cables. My hinged Audi one was pretty short (I guess 1ft, from memory) but I'm wondering if the generic coiled 3ft ones fit in the center armrest of a 991.2. Anyone using one or the other?

I’ve been using this for several years, works perfectly and disappears into the armrest when not in use.

Ah yeah I hadn't considered a retractable one. Great idea, thanks!

Invest in any MFI certified cable, don't need to buy overpriced PAG cables.

I use Car2Play. So my phone connects wirelessly to Apple CarPlay. Works perfectly & I never have to connect a USB cable.
