Default XPEL Ceramic Coating

Anyone have this done? XPEL is new to the ceramic coating game and my go to guy for XPEL protection film is now offering the XPEL ceramic coating service. However I can’t find much in the way of reviews on this particular product. Thanks

I have had two cars fully wrapped. I would not ceramic coat. Lots of sealants that will make it bead water incredibly well.

I use this and it works well no special procedure just wax. Putting a special coating on plastic seems ludicrous....

It is a common practice to apply a coating, or even just a wax if you prefer, on top of PPF in order to create a hydrophobic surface that is easier to clean and maintain. This way you still get the impact protection from the film, while also receiving the easy maintenance and environmental protection that comes with a coating.

Guess I wasn't clear, my entire car is not wrapped. While the ceramic would be going on the film as well as that is what ceramic coating companies do, the prime reason is to put it on unprotected paint. And looking for feedback specifically on the XPEL version of the ceramic coating.

Same here...I was not going to have the coating put just on the non-PPF painted areas! I am very happy with the results and I only clean the car now with Opti Rinse and waffle towels, and very easily and effective at that.

Thanks for the feedback. My daily driver is an Audi Allroad which unfortunately has to live outside as my wife's car and my GTS are in a 2 car garage. The Audi is getting bombarded with artillery fungus which is just plain nasty and once baked on by the sun is extremely difficult if not next to impossible to remove. And I think I'll ceramic the GTS as well, especially if I can get a discount for doing 2 cars at the same time. I doubt the ceramic will help much with the artillery fungus but it should be a big help to keep an outside car in generally clean condition.

Needless to say get the paint corrected before getting the PPF and coating applied, which a lot of detailers automatcally do and factor it into the cost.

flickroll,

Check out the video below from YouTuber Engineering Explained (2.25 million subscribers) on his video "Everything You Need To Know About Ceramic Coatings". I think this video will help answer a lot of questions and give you insight to ceramic coating versus Paint Protection Film and much more.
