911T vs 911S if same price
Which would you choose if they are priced the same and have same performance options like sport exhaust, rws, and spasm? I understand that with the 911T - less is more. There seem to be some high option ones left which puts them in the next higher price category.

S.
Leaving that much smash on the table for "lightweight glass" and a few gimmicks like the ability to add in more weighty options like RWS has no appeal to me whatsoever.

All comes down to spec and what you like. There's no blanket "T is better than S" because configuration can dramatically change these cars.
I'd take a 991.2 S with 7MT, Sport PASM, and 4WSS+ over a 991.2 T with PDK, 18-way seats, etc. But this really is a matter of preference. Someone else may not want a 7MT, Sport PASM, or 4WSS+. Speaking of less is more, I wouldn't skip a nicely equipped (whatever that means for you) base Carrera in your search. It drives very, very closely to the Carrera T.

Can’t agree more. You can’t blanket statement this comparison. We need two specific cars and equipment to evaluate. I would also factor in model year and mileage into my decision. Having driven the S and currently owning a Carrera T, I would choose the better equipped, lower mileage and best model year car (in that order).
Do do you have any suspects?

For a new one, I studied hard and went with a loaded C2S with a bunch of lux options and all the available performance options. Then I added the X51 PowerKit, on sale, for a song, especially after selling my S turbos. After adding catless downpipes, it's just about perfect. For me, but

I built a T and an S and I decided to pay more and get the S- I wanted pdk, and the T pdk negates the lsd. plus more power and better brakes sealed the deal for me.
T you hear more road noise and get some nice trim, just not enough of a difference for me to disregard the power bump and brakes.

I am comparing similar specs in both cars. Manual trans, sport pasm, sport exhaust, rws but no pccb. The 911T’s have more fluff while the 911S’ are more basic as far as interior/exterior options. I think the S will be discounted more so the price is a wash.

Kinda depends on what you’re after. If you’re the light weight manual transmission type you’ll want the T. S for PDK, more options, power, etc.
I can see appeal of both, but ultimately for me 4S is better for my needs as a daily driver. If it was a toy, T would be my pick. Getting lots of options and PDK on T just feels wrong.
I wouldn’t consider cost as a factor...they’re both expensive cars and a few thousand savings isn’t significant...pick one you want ignoring price. Even saving 20k for something you wont be happy with isn’t worth it when you’re spending 100k.

No comparison. The T is a base Carrera with shorter gearing, a few pounds lighter and some other insignificant items. The S has significantly more power, bigger brakes, and a few more goodies. I'm not knocking the T but it's not an S.

Buy a T and get the power bumped to 480hp. Best of both worlds, for some...!

Buy a GTS (or S and add the X51) and tune and you'll be enjoying near 550 Hp and 500 ft-lbs torque. 3.8 TT territory.
After sale of my S takeoff turbos, my X51 upgrade cost me less than $4k + taxes.
