Hello -
I picked up my 991.2 C2 a few months ago and thinking about upgrading to a 991.2 C4GTS that a dealership has in stock. The C2 is great, but I'm left wanting more performance and sound, mostly sound (and AWD will be a plus too)... I initially had the Soul Performance sport cats and muffler system (for cars without PSE), but recently had the sport cats taken off, because I thought it was too loud (especially during cold start in my development). Will the GTS sound a lot better than the C2 with Soul Performance mufflers? Am I going to notice a big difference? I think the difference is about $55k between the two cars. I know it's a stupid question to ask if the upgrade is worth it (of course it is), but is it worth it or should I go for a 992 or something else? I'm going to look at the car in a few days, but wanted to get some thoughts.
Thanks!

Seems like a great spec you have there!
IMO i think its a steep price to pay for the GTS model ( Which would be just a tad quicker in the real world) , I would hold off for the 992

Do you like the way the 992 looks? I don't but if you then maybe waiting to test drive one is an option.

I'm all for the GTS but the price difference is huge... Are you comfortable spending that much for a higher trim of the same car?
As far as sound, the GTS will sound a little raspier and maybe a couple DB's louder. You can hear the difference in youtube videos if you listen closely. This is due to the slightly larger turbos and more free flowing catalytic converters. If you put an exhaust on, the sound will be pretty much the same.
A 4GTS w/ rear axle steer will be a nice, and noticeable step up.

I had Soul Performance Cats + Soul Performance Exhaust for non-PSE. It sounded awesome, but honestly was a bit too loud. So, I took the cats off, but kept the exhaust. It's a bit louder than stock, but nothing crazy. Are you saying that if I get PSE, it'll sound like the 4GTS?

Why not just get a tune and call it a day? Don’t get me wrong, I love my GTS but a simple tune on a C2S and a little tinkering of the exhaust should bring you a bigger smile. I’d save the money and put it towards something else.

Yes,
with that kind of price difference, just add the COBB, BMC filter and some 200 cell race cats or catless pipes, and you will save near $50k. If you are worried about loss of warranty, chances of a major failure are low, but $50 some grand plus sales tax is way more than a blown engine would cost. You can probably buy a nice used S or GTS engine and also a transmission for way less that, and have plenty of savings left over. If you like your base and its options, that's the way to go.
Oh, and you will love your base 991.2. It will go like stink, sound awesome, and be good for just as many grins as a GTS, while leaving plenty of cash in your pocket. ...if you like your base, with its options.

The $55k price difference seems steep. I just picked up a 991.2 C2GTS with 3,900 miles CPO for $115k up in the northeast. I wonder if you would consider a CPO car to have your cake and eat it too? Sticker on the car was $145k with the options on it, including carbon ceramic brakes which I likely wouldn't have added myself. The sound with sport exhaust is decent, but I think you might still find it too tame. The larger turbos drown out a lot of the sound when they spool up. I looked into an Akropovic slip on system, but choked on the $5k+ price tag before installation! I love my car and am glad I saved the $30k by getting it gently used. Makes that first scratch less jarring
