Thru axle is super easy with a ("Fork Up" pictured) adapter. Seasucker has been great - use it very often at both around town and highway speeds. Each cup is pull rated at 210 pounds - my mini bomber with one bike has 5 cups holding it on - it's not going anywhere.

Thule proride here, fits little street tires and my buddy's 29x3.0 MTB tires. It's the best I could find for the full range of mountain bike tire and frame sizes

I used the 1.5 inch bolts. I did not use the T slot, because I did not want to cut the rubber gasket. I swap to ski racks in the winter. If you don't put the rubber gasket in it makes a lot of noise. With the longer bolts I have to adjust one to the right height by hand, then tighten the other which pulls everything snug. I can't tighten the front bolt with wrench. Not sure if that makes sense.

Also you want a couple rubber stick-on rubber dots to stop the arms from vibrating.

Looks nice but I don't want to clamp the carbon frames.

Resurrecting this older thread. The clamping of carbon frames is my issues too. So is 1Up the only option? I had one of their old trainers years ago, and top quality stuff, but just want to make sure I can fit a nice carbon 29" duel suspension mountain bike on this thing.

Scroll up... I have a picture of a IBIS Ripley LS full suspension 29" (2.4 tires). I use it all the time, easy to load, very stable. It's a very slim rack.

Looks like 1up USA is the answer. Ordered. They're running a bit behind schedule right now due to the demand (good for them!), but looks like it'll be worth the wait. Thanks!

Roof rack? I don’t need no stinking roof rack.

Tried out my new set up today.

first a PSA - the part number for the RTS has been replaced and is now 992-860-159-OK1 (this is the one that comes with the bag). I unfortunately know the difference between the packaging as the old part broke on me similar to the folks that posted before.

we had a successful maiden voyage today with the ProRide XT on flush mount in the T slots. Pic attached. Seems pretty sturdy although they do away a little over bumps.

I use the RockyMounts Tomahawk. Somewhat bulky but I also prefer to keep the wheels on like others here as I ride both mountain and gravel bikes with through axles with sizes that change at the whim of the bike industry. I just ordered a 1up hitch rack for the wife’s SUV however and very excited for it - their products are well designed.
