Default TPMS compatibility between 16 Turbo

Would the TPMS on a 2016 factory Turbo S wheel set be compatible with a 2019 C4 GTS? Looking a a take off set and this is an unknown. I know the TPMS can be had on eBay for $170 but no need to replace the factory ones if they would work. Car has not yet been delivered so taking the factory wheels off and putting this set on if I bought them is not yet possible.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Was the Porsche TPMS change timed with the 991.1 to 991.2 transition? Thanks

Yes. You will need sensors. For factory Porsche that is $170 each. The poem is beru, if memory serves. The oem replacement from them was $250 for a set. There are programmable universals from the same company you can buy for $40 or so each. Someone will need the tool to tell them what they are supposed to do. I went with the oem replacements. From Pep boys no less. I preferred not to have them programmed to emulate the original.

HUF is the OEM for the Porsche TPMS.

When I swapped the ‘18 factory wheels for the “factory new” 50th wheels I have now, the sensors needed to be changed. The new wheels shipped with the ‘14/991.1 version. The ones you show are the ones I bought (or similar, no access to eBay at the moment), except black.

Took them to local Discount Tire; they swapped them and rebalanced in about an hour. Can’t rmember what I paid, but it was nominal....$20 total or something.

More pertinent to your original post....the dealer DID NOT know this little nugget. They swapped the wheels for me before delivery, and it immediately threw an error code on the dash. 10 miles of test drives, and multiple resets of the computer and they finally decided to call somebody at PCNA and figured it out. I drove it home with the code and had the sensors changed a couple days later.

They did all the research for me, including handing me a print out of the eBay ad. They were not pleased to be delivering a car with a code displayed. I survived.

No issues at all since install.

I found out that the easiest way to confirm TPMS frequency is with the car VIN. Checking the VIN of the 2017 Turbo S showed that the TPMS was 433 MHz. The dealer was unsure when the TPMS changed from 315 to 433 MHz. They thought this was not rolled out consistently on 911 cars at the same time so if you are looking at some wheel sets and have the VIN, the Porsche dealer will be able to tell you.
