auto rev matching question

(FYI PSM is never actually "off")[/QUOTE]
When PSM button is held down for several seconds, PSM is actually turned "OFF" with one exception: "When braking in ABS control range, the vehicle is stabilized even when PSM is switched off."

Why the hell Porsche doesn't 1) enable rev-matching software with every manual 911 sold, and 2) separately and independently allow on/off control of rev matching is beyond me...
Those that love it can turn it on in any mode they want, and those that hate it aren't compelled to turn off PSM in certain modes to get rid of it.
Yes, far too simple.
The Porsche engineering reply in some conference room somewhere must have been (loosely translated from original German):
I personally fall in the "love it" camp, and in my search for a lightly used manual 991.2 base (of which there are damn few, perhaps 1 out of 10 base .2 to begin with), find that 9 out of 10 of those don't have sport chrono... Again likely because the saleperson who helped order it didn't understand that not checking that box meant no rev-matching....
I can live without the useless clock/timer, I can live without the dynamic engine mounts, but I want rev-matching damnit!

"Hell no! Let's bundle it with a very mis-understood option that even our brand ambassadors often don't understand (Sport Chrono), and force drivers to RTFM we worked so hard on to figure out what button permutations will allow the specific combos we have deemed worthy...."
