Oil change necessary?

Oil change necessary?
Need some advice. Recently purchased my first 911 a 2016 Carrera CPO with 20K miles. From the service records the last oil change was done in March 2018 with 19K miles and the 20K service was done in November by the dealer just prior to my purchase. Oil change reminder is now going off and I am wondering if it really needs an oil change now at just 22K miles or can I wait until November?
Thanks

Thanks for the responses. I reached out to the dealer and it turns out the date of the 20K service was actually in April not November. Had them send me the service records to verify. As such I guess an oil change is in order.

yes, oil and filter are cheap to DIY, but if you are going to the dealer and paying $300+, I see no reason to change oil that is just fine.

A year is an arbitrary figure. Its not as though the oil is fine on day 363 and then insufficient on day 367. Unless the OP is using the vehicle in an extreme manner (lots of idling, many purely short trips, track time, etc), a yearly interval with barely 3k miles means the oil has plenty of life left, especially on an engine with just 20k miles. If you guys saw the synthetic oil intervals in europe you would pass out.

we are questioning all car manufacturers 12 months maintenance interval that costs $120 DIY or $300 at the dealer, it’s $150k car ... unless someone shows me viscosity is the same after 12 months and there is no moisture in the oil I’ll keep changing it at factory recommend interval.... but that’s just me, I love doing it and can’t wait for a next one so I can spend some more time with the car

Ive seen enough used oil analyses showing little to no moisture and fuel content to not worry about this on a car driven in non extreme conditions. if you enjoy diying to bond with the car, thats cool, but i dont think it means the oil is unable to adequately protect the motor. the maintenance specs are created by more than just engineers, and are based on input from actuaries, lawyers, and accountants. porsche benefits when you come into the dealer, ad an opportunity to sell other services or interest you in a new car, in addition to the straight profit on the service

Here's my shade tree mechanic view. For low mileage cars, one driven occasionally, but for a some time and distance each outing, can probably go longer than a year between oil changes. For a car driven daily, but very short distances, oil should be changed.
