Map Update

Pavegeno928-
I took my discs and your post to my dealer. He has all the appropriate discs and instructions including the discs that will turn 4.52 back to 4.76 that you mentioned. However, I lack the courage to be the "canary in the coal mine", because, like the canary's death, the negative result may be irreversible. Did you have any luck?

Eureka ! Maybe ?
The code for the latest map update:
Source 09D21823
4. 9. 1. PCM31_NA_N217_1823_P6
The software version remained stable. Maybe the new discs from Germany are fixed ? Or, I’ll find out that I have the maps for Slovakia dated 1895

Long story short.... I have at home the actual map update discs that I borrowed from the dealer. Last time when I was at the dealer the input the necessary code to accept the update and according to them, I can now load the update. I should be able to do that tomorrow and will report back either way.

I have none of these. Apparently I was sold whatever PCNA had on the shelf that they wanted to clear. Is there a lawyer who wished to handle a class-action suit?

SUCCESS !!!
I now have the new 2018 maps installed. To make a (very) long story short here is the process.
1) The license Key disc (part 977.044.909.61) that can be purchased from Suncoast or through the dealer is installed to the car via the CD player.
2) The package also contains the License Key Number which the dealer must use in their network computer system to obtain the Map Install Key.
3) After the disc has run (and taken the PCM to software level 4.52, which was a downgrade for me as I was at 4.76) the dealer will send the Map Insert Key number through the PIWIS system to the car.
4) The Navigation Database America DVD's can then be loaded via the CD Player to update the Map Database to the new maps. These discs (4) are shop discs and not something the consumer would have.
Note: The part number for these is 977.044.973.60. If you are in the process of getting the update done, confirm that your dealer has these in hand (my dealer did not and had to order them from Germany)
5) After the update has been completed, according to the dealer they can update the PCM back to the latest software level 4.76. (I have not had this done and to be frank I don't know how much and what difference there is)
This is what my PCM history shows now:

Sorry, I still do not have the courage to try it. Apparently, I still may not be able to get an upgrade from 4.52 to the 4.76 that I have had since 2015 in my 2015 991 GTS. Shammerman's post merely informed that he still has some uncertainties left. I do as well. I am awaiting a post from another (Rye or Pavegeno928) who have successfully accomplished the install with the discs as designated. Please give us the details of successful installations.

What a half-assed hack job on Porsche's part.

My tech showed me the same discs which are the actual map update. They had to order them as "shop tools" and did not pass on the cost to me (roughly $75).
After loading the actual map update discs, they loaded my code to activate them.

Ok let me throw this wrench into the works...I have a NavTV backup camera. Does anyone else have this and if so, what was the effect on it after the upgrade?
Second question...I have an annoying nit with PCM. If I am streaming BT from the phone, the next time I start the car the PCM defaults to FM. I had a loaner Macan that did the right thing and resumed Bluetooth.
Does the 4.76 software fix this, by chance?

To do
I don’t think the map update would have anything do with back-up camera functionality. You may wan’t start a new thread about the PCM question you have in order to have a bigger audience.

Same behavior, but only for Bluetooth. Every other source is fine.
