Default *Draft* 991.1 Air Filter Change DIY

I changed my air filters recently and wrote up a DIY since I only found videos. This is my draft. Let me know if you have comments and I will update it with more details. The videos are very helpful but I like to have some paper to step through while I am doing the work. I hope the upload works. Cheers.

Excellent write-up. I'll be doing this procedure next week. I appreciate the detailed description of each step. I will use your guide as I perform my replacement.

Wow! You put a huge amount of effort into this document. Thank you. I downloaded it to my laptop. Hopefully it is similar to my 991.2.

When you do this could you take some pictures of the fasteners under the tail light towards the front alignment dowel? Can you let me know what torx bit size it is? You can see in my write up that mine was missing. My guess is whomever last removed the bumper cover installed the tail light and forgot about putting this fastener in first. They then found the leftover parts and weren't going to take it all apart to put the fasteners back in. Please PM me or post them and I'll add that to the write up. Thanks!

I actually didn't see this video prior to doing my work but it came up when I did a new YouTube search to find what I had found originally. It's for a 991.1 4S but very good. It's excellent and goes with my write up well.

Link to the video I found originally. Above video is much, much better. I wish I had seen it first!

Good luck!

Default *Draft* 991.1 Air Filter Replacement - Revision 02

Revision 2. I added links to some helpful videos, corrected a bunch of typos, and added an outline for putting it all back together. Again, if you attempt this let me know any tips that I should add to the document and I will update it. Cheers.

Great write up for accessing what you need to get to behind the rear bumper. Now has a home with my other Porsche DIY. Will use it again as I change spark plugs at 40K miles and serpentine belt. Mileage early on the belt but won't hurt and will mean 1 less bumper removal.
