I’ve played with the wind deflector quite a bit. My observation:
  • Up - slightly more wind in the cabin and noticeably louder wind noise
  • Down - less wind in the cabin and noticeably quieter
I generally leave it down unless the day is very, very hot and I’m looking for that tiny extra amount of windiness in the cabin.

YMMV!

Welcome to the Club! A MT 911 Targa is an absolute joy and one hell of a GT car.
The SmartTop mod is a must.
Enjoy and drive it in good health.

Thx all. I’ll play with the wind deflector and eventually report back. Bob Z., the colour of the car is “Night Blue Metallic” (every time I see someone write Midnight Blue, I go back to verify what my build sheet says). I too am not a big fan of black or many dark colours (as an owner) due to the extra effort required to keep it clean. I did want something a little different this time and landed on NBM with Expresso.

I’ll definitely get some pics of the interior next time I’m in the car. Frankly, the colour comes off $a4ker than I expected. A week before the car was to arrive, I went into the dealership to complete some paperwork and ended up parking next to the car. Since it as pouring rain, I only quickly looked at it as I ran inside. The interior looked black due to the low light conditions and my sales guy almost had a heart attack when I suggested they made a mistake when they ordered a black interior. From a few paces away on a cloudy/rainy day, the interior does look black. Now that the windows are tinted, you need to get up close to see it isn’t black.

Default Great colors

I have the same color scheme. One moment the car looks black, then your see the dark blue. Then, the metallic. You won't get tired of it and you are making the right decision on nano coating!

The espresso color is rich and sophisticated (IISSMS) with a great leather smell.

You'll be very happy. Congratulations once again!!!

Tip on the heater (If 991.2 is same as 991.1). If you use the fan control as opposed to the up/down heat control, and go all the way up where it shows "HIGH", the airflow changes and the fan noise lowers providing a warmer and at the same time more comfortable driving environment with maximum heat.

Happy motoring !

I have a brand new pair of never used pair of Lloyd's front mats, Black with Silver "targa" emblem and Black edging if someone is interested. I have a pair in my Targa and they are much nicer than stock and they have the grommet holes just like the OEMs; PM me if interested.

Wind deflector: Me thinks the lower position is for higher speeds and the higher position is for lower speeds. Mine likes to be touched directly above the steering wheel. Pressing above the rear view mirror is an exercise in futility.

I believe there is a little insignia on the deflector itself to tell you where to push....and as I recall, it is off center, which is why your approach likely works well.

Sorry OP for hijacking your thread, but in regards to the wind deflector, you will have to find the sweet spot to push, which may or may not be where the little arrow is.
