Sorry, you are incorrect. That are of the tire is considered NOT repairable and the tire is done. Any puncture outside the last tread groove towards the edge is not salvageable. Any reputable tire shop will confirm this.

Look at the picture carefully, the puncture is not outside of the last groove and not at the edge. There is plenty of meat material for the plug to vulcanize with the thick shoulder area. The puncture itself is not in the groove, which would render it unrepairable.

I agree with @drcollie, I think puncture is out of the safe repair zone too.

Well, as usual, no consensus. But overwhelming majority say it’s not fixable. Plus, like an idiot, I put the glue in there— so that renders the tires useless. Lesson learned.

Heres a look at the threads for additional fodder.

I’ll purchase Pilot Sprt 4S for the back and keep the stock Pzeros up front until they wear down.

Not patchable? You guys have been drinking too much of the kool-aid the dealers and tire shops have been serving. I've been plugging tires on my cars in all zones, except sidewall, for 30 years and only had 1 that leaked and had to be fixed a second time. The tire repair foam needs to be removed and the tire plugged. You'll have to find an indy to do it, but if you check around you can get it fixed. Or you can listen to those that will tell you to get a new tire. Actually, no... You'll need a whole new set of tires, an alignment, tire insurance, an oil change..... Geez.

[Disclaimer: This is my opinion. Do not take my advice. I don't want to be sued if you have an issue later]

I have never used the Porsche goop but carry Fix a Flat and have used it . At least for that product it doesn't damage the tire or tpms and is easily cleaned up with soapy water. I would suspect the Porsche product is similar.

Are you certain that the PS 4S and Pzeros are compatible? For example I know that Pzero N0 and N1 are incompatible because of the different tire compounds. I would think Porsche or any tire shop would know for certain.

It's not about kool aid if the tire is full with goo it's not an easy fix. That's the complication. If you want to go through the trouble of seeing if some indy will remove it clean and patch it go for it.

OP - what do you mean you put glue in the hole. Are you talking about the slime or glue, as in superglue?

I will never use goo...just goes against my thinking of fixing stuff permanently so it last. You can double it also by using the tire plug and then also patching the inside if you are worried about a blow out. not for the track or sustained high speed but probably ok for the occasional blast.

If I were driving a Toyota Corolla, I'd consider a patch. For a 991 not only wouldn't I patch the tire, but the thought of patching wouldn't even cross my mind. $650 for new rear tires and another $80 for mounting and balancing is a small price to pay for peace of mind. Moreover the new rears will wear out at about the same time as the existing fronts.

If you are looking for a little plug kit I've used this one with great success.

Its about time to replace the tires honestly. I'd just replace 2.

You probably want to get an alignment. The inside is at the wear bars.

It should be fixable though... not sure why you were told no. Whats concerning its on outside... lots of flex there and used for turning hard.

If you don’t mind spending $$ on 2 new tires, that’s probably the best option. If you don’t plan on tracking your car, I’d repair it (patch preferred). Too many folks enjoy koolaid and probably have $$ spewing out of their pockets. I grew up working at a tire shop and back in the day, that tire would be repairable, no doubt.
