I love working on my Boxster. Currently a friend has a lift, but that may change soon. And he doesn’t have a transmission jack. And I surely wouldn’t let someone without Porsche experience and tools replace my IMS bearing or diagnose systems that are truly Porsche flat six unique, like the AOS. That’s an odd duck.

Not just Porsche either. I had 2 indy’s and a dealership quote new struts on my Honda Odyssey minivan. Was floored when all 3 came back around $1500. This is about as gravy as a job can get so no idea what they factored in for a shop rate. I ended doing front struts and rear shocks myself in about 4 hours and $400 in parts.

Well just because they have "Porsche experience" doesn't mean they know what they are doing or have a clue what they are doing. And this happened at a Porsche independent shop to a friends 993.

And this after another 997 friend took his car in to another Porsche independent shop for a new clutch some months earlier. It is a good thing these people do not maintain aircraft, and even then things go wrong.

Please-please also state if your in what size City & State in the USA.

Like I'm in Franklin, TN. and there is only one Porsche Dealership here.
I would think this would be considered small I'm pretty sure.
Porsche of Nashville is actually part of the (Sonic Automotive Group).
Also, Franklin, TN. is one of the 10 wealthiest Counties in the USA.

Currently I don't know what PON hourly-labor rate is.
I've never asked ...............

Terry
Guys,

PON hourly labor rate is $212.00.

At 77-years old I'm not working on my GT4.
That's why I take mine to the Local PON Dealership they do excellent work.
