Now I have another question (other than "why are dealers closed on Sundays?"), the content description for "Premium Package Plus i.c.w. Adaptive Sport Seats Plus (18-way)" shows the following;

"Package Contents:
  • Auto Dimming Mirrors (exterior side mirrors and interior rear view mirror)
  • Seat Heating (front)
  • Seat Ventilation (front)
  • Ambient Lighting
  • Led headlights with PDLS+
Note: only in conjunction with 18-way Adaptive Power Sport Seats"

But If I choose that package (along with the 18-way memory seats), the PDLS+ does not show up in the picture or in the summary. So, does it come with PDLS+ or not? If it does, the $3700 extra for full LEDs and the packages seems very reasonable.

I believe it does but I’d confirm with the dealer. For what it’s worth, I decided I “needed” PDLS; however, decided to forgo the LED “plus” variation as I didn’t feel I noticed the difference aside from aesthetics (my C2S had PDLS plus). I opted for premium package and added seat ventilation which provided a substantial cost reduction compared to Premium Pkge Plus. Ultimately, you need to decide which options are important to you ...

It may be too late but my vote is for the GTS. It has all the good stuff as standard.

I find my Targa 4S to feel slower than a C2, a 4 non-S would be a non-starter.

Well I finalized my deal this afternoon. White Targa 4 GTS, manual, RAS, Bose and 18 way seats http://www.porsche-code.com/PKFZ7A37 only about $20k more than I wanted to spend! Just waiting to hear the build date. I hope I get as lucky as some others on here that have had a short turn around. This is going to be a long hard wait.

Thanks for all the input. I will keep this updated and post pics when it comes in!

Great choice...where are you located? And what build month and/or anticipated delivery month did they give you?

I am in Southern Ontario, just west of Toronto. Bought the car from Porsche of London. The initial delivery date is set as July 26 but I am hoping I am as lucky as others have been on the forum and receive it earlier.

Bob Z., I was trying to find details on your Targa and what you have done to it. Can you point me to a thread where I can see pics and a list of the changes you have and are planning on making? I have been following the PCCB thread.

Thanks!

I wondered due to the base price, which is higher north of the border. When I get my car done I will post pics and info on what I did...others have been doing some of the things I have done, and I have got a lot of ideas from forum members as well.

Out of curiosity I built my car on the US site and after tax (used 7% for US build and 13% in Canada) and converted to CAD, the car would have been $24,000 more in the US. You guys are getting screwed!

Rare and 911 probably don't belong in the same sentence.

Well - yes and no. I probably have one of the "rarest" 911's in a Targa 4 (non S/GTS) but I agree I the word "Rare" is probably not the proper usage as anyone would grab a GTS over a 4 any day.

Not so fast cowboy. I chose a 4S over a GTS because I didn’t want alcantara. I didn’t want CL. I didn’t want the black targa bar. So I configured a 4S with the GTS motor. I now have a C4S/GTS. Different strokes for different folks...
