I know about the 50 hp difference and I think the 4S has bigger brakes is that true and are both the front and rear larger?
Anything else?
Thanks, I'm trying to decide between the two that are for sale.

Both are widebody 911s. The S means bigger and more powerful engine and brakes. And as mentioned above PASM is standard on the S. If you can afford the 4S, buy it unless you like the colors and lower miles of the non S. But you will probably -eventually-
have S envy 🤣!

And then... you'll go back to a Non-S. I've gone from a 997.1 C2S to a 997.1 TT and to and 993 C2S and now... a CT! Why? Because it's more fun to drive a less HP car fast than a higher HP car slow. You have to work them more, shift more often, keep the revs up into the optimum range of torque to get the most of out them. IMO, they're just fun.

Base C4 car's lack of smart rear differential (PTV) is real downside especially in an AWD car. In .2 gen you can get it as an option.
I'd go for the S bigger engine. Power difference was real in that generation...some might call the base car a little sluggish especially when adding AWD (increased weight and more power train loses).
Hate to say it, but you should always get the S if you can afford it. Base cars are there strictly for cost savings and often have few options. Some people like the the more raw experience of smaller motor stripped down interior etc though. As many have said plenty of times in many posts 'you don't regret getting an S,' but the same can't be said the other way around. Oh and S cars consistently hold their value more...an S will consistently sell for more and when cars get older the difference is even more.
