Door Sounds
Hey Guys,
I noticed on my 2019 Carrera T that my driver door and passenger door sound slightly different. Driver side has a slightly metal clunk to it and passenger side is more a thud.
Just curious if anyone has noticed the same. I don't think there's an issue, but wanted to check with others here.
cheers!

Have you checked the weather stripping? I don't have a T but I don't see why that would matter.

Yeah. Everything looks good. I just mentioned it’s a T because I know it has less sound insulation. I feel like it’s the latch mechanism on the driver side. Don’t think it’s worth having dealer do anything about it but I might mention it at first oil change. I’m sure I’ll get the ‘it’s normal’ answer.

I have a service appointment scheduled tomorrow for front suspension clatter/clunk noises and have also requested they diagnose my driver's side door. When you close the passenger door there is a satisfying "thunk" but the driver's door sounds like garbage, as if the internals are rattling around. We'll see...

Soft-close doors would have been cool.

Ex-Navy? When I served, "attention to detail" was something I never forgot.

I'm on my second 991.2 and both had different sounding doors. I assumed its because Drivers door gets used more.

That would be the case for me but I bought brand new. I'm fairly sure now that this is something they can't seem to control well enough or don't care enough about.

Just left the dealer. They acknowledged the driver door closure sound is abnormal. Wouldn't look at it without $160+tax in diagnosis and then said that any parts replacement would not be covered under CPO bc trim and rattles are excluded. I passed.
Any resources available on how to remove and reinstall the door card? I want to inspect inside myself.

The second dealer I spoke to, which did my 48 month, said he "has absolutely replaced defective door panels under CPO."
I think my mistake with the first was that I said the door panel rattled.
