Default Exhaust options 991.2

My new 991.2 doesn't have PSE (last one did and I miss it) so I am wondering what you guys have done to make it sound better and a little louder. I could have PSE installed but would love to hear some other options from experience. Thanks.

Fabspeed x-pipe. Arguably my favorite mod for my car. Completely changed the dynamic of the car. Much more exhaust sound, much more pronounced. Not over whelming.

I wasted a lot of time researching for sports exhaust as my 2018 991.2 Carrera did not have PSE.

I heard the Porsche PSE which sounds fantastic but likely to cost you close to $7000 (exhaust is around 4000 but retro fiting is pricey). Tubi, Armytrix, etc are all around $4500-$6000 and both are very good.

I got Fabspeed X-Pipe and initially absolutely hated it (almost had it removed and put back the OEM). The sound is ok now (maybe I got used to it) but it adds mild harshness, and vibration compared to OEM. Also, the Fabspeed tips kinda stick out with mild lean. I went with Fabspeed as it was cheap, and I will swap my current car for base 992 with PSE once it is released.

In my opinion, PSE is the best option if budget is not an issue. Otherwise, Xpipe does the job ok.

Fabspeed X-pipe was garbage to me. The sound was horrible, the customer service was even worse. I removed my X-pipe after a couple of weeks and sat in the basement for a while until I sold it for pennies.

Save your money and go with Tubi, Armytrix, Akrapovic, etc...

I have PSE on my Carrera T and am contemplating upgrading to a Remus or Akrapovic system...

Glad you still like your X-pipe. Putting mine on next week. Just want a little more sound without going full header, cats, etc....

Hmmm. I see my experience with the X-pipe conflicts with the experience of others.

I should elaborate a bit. The X-pipe is a muffler delete; the car will be much louder than stock. Arguably louder than PSE.
Definitely not as stock/OEM sounding, but that's not to say the sound is horrible. Personally, like the sound of my car,it's very aggressive.

I could see how some people would find the sound to be unpleasant, but that's a matter of opinion and choice.

In regards to fitment, installing my x-pipe was relatively straight forward. The tips did stick out a bit more than I liked; I took about 1/4 in of material off each of the exits, and that allows them to tuck in nicely. Similar look to the OEM quad exhaust.
If I recall correctly, Fabspeed was notified of my mod by the vendor I used, and they have adjusted their fixture since then.

Personally want it a bit louder; cat's are going next. But that's another thread.

Default Not a fan of the off-throttle burble...

I'm not a big fan of the off-throttle burble. Do the aftermarket mufflers get rid of this?

I was looking at the X pipe. Guess I need to hear one. I can have PSE installed for about $5000 and it sounds great IMO. Thanks for all the help so far.

Any backfiring/burble etc?

Definitely do some 200 cel sport cats, they are worth real power in the turbo format...btw that and an x pipe the car would sound awesome. I've used Fabspeed for my turbo cars and they've been fantastic to me.

I agree, high-flow cats from a company such as Soul should get teh sound you want. There are countless threads in this forum though so search around a bit and you will find out everything you need.
