Default 4 way seats slide when folded?

I am close to trading my 993 on a 991.1 gts. I have been very particular on specs in my search but living in northern Minnesota has made me realize I should be focusing on location/trade value just as much, being there is little to no market for these cars up here. The car I found has 4 ways which(after researching)I’m sure are fine but have no experience with them. From everything I have read they are a great seat....my only question is if they slide forward when you fold down the back? If they do that would be great as I haul kids around a lot and the slow electric seat in my 993 is annoying. So hopefully someone in the know can fill me in.

Thanks as always

Yes, manually of course, and you can slide the lever with one hand and fold with the other, They are great seats and I test drove one but wound up ordering a car with the 18 ways, which are basically the same seats with power.

Bob, I think he was asking if they automatically release and slide forward once you fold them. I don't believe they do, but I have never had a person sit in the back of a 911 and only folded the drivers seat to get parcels etc. It is usually the passenger seat that slides forward when folded. If no one else gets mack to you, pm me and I will go down to the garage and check.

I tried the 4-way SS+ in the 991 this evening. No automatic forward slide.

But it is stil pretty easy to do so don't let the extra step deter you. I test drove a Targa 4S with those seats before I ordered my Targa GTS w/18 ways and I love them both.

The 4-ways are amazing. I have read they are actually deeper than the 18 ways, which coming from sports buckets, were important to me. I also use the back seats a ton, so the instant forward slide of the manual adjustment is so much more convenient that the slow wait for an electric slide (the seat, not the dance).

I test drove a car with 4 ways and loved them; however, I needed the 18 ways for my back problems.

One partial solution to your problem might be to program the one of the driver seat position button to scoot the seat all the way forward.

With the 991 the seat memory will move to the saved position just by clicking the button when the door is open. When the door is closed you must hold the button until the desired position is set.

So not a one step process but you can fold your driver seat and press one of the pre saved buttons and the seat will scoot forward on its own.

my two cents

The four-way sport seats plus do not have power capability forward or backward. Manual only.
