Low-cost trunk liner
Hi all, new member here (picked up a '14 CPOd C2 last month) and thought I'd start with a contribution. I was looking at options for a trunk liner and there are a couple, but they're pretty expensive for what they are. It just happened that I'd bought a couple of Home Depot 17 gal. utility totes ($8.48) in the hopes of organizing my garage (ha!) and it looked like they were just about the right shape and size. So, I dropped one in and couldn't believe it - it was like it was made for the purpose. There is just enough room to get your fingers on the edges to lift it out and to install or remove the lid. The lid is handy if you want to contain something or if you want a shelf for something light like a handbag and don't want to reach all the way to the bottom for it. Hope someone finds this useful.

Great find, thanks for sharing. I've been doing the same with a clear bin that's not as robust as those HD tough bins. FYI, there has been past chatter around different brands and boxes that folks like for the frunk.
What I like about this is that it's black, tougher than the rubbermaid options folks have used and when the lid is on, you can put stuff on it. Other options have a "rounded" lid which isn't good for placing small items!

Nice find. I like how sturdy it looks.
I'll have to see if it fits the C4/C4S front trunk because of the sight bump out.

Now if he can turn the yellow cover into the lid protector, that would be impressive.

Thanks, I am surprised someone hasn't condemned it yet for being too heavy/adding weight; however, I have a fat Targa so why would I care?!
