I spec'd the 5-lug wheels for my incoming GTS. There were a number of reasons, mostly oriented around practicality, but I also preferred the Carrera S wheel style to the Turbo-S wheel style.
I love the look of my center locks. However, I've already had one flat and that was the moment I realized that they were a bad idea. If it was a dedicated track car, perhaps they'd be a better option. However, quite a bit inconvenient for everyday use.
There are actually quite a lot of GT3/RS owners who track the cars regularly and who wish Porsche would offer non-CL wheels for the car. Some have even done the conversion themselves.
I really wish Apple would offer the new iPad with a lightning port instead of the new usb-c. The latter is technically superior but I have a mess of cables for the former.
I do not put much weight on what “a lot of GT3/RS owners who track the cars” want. Those same owners want a manual transmission for the theater of changing gears, not because it turns a faster lap.
