I run around 40 track days per year and have seen 280+ several times. I also pull my true coolant temps from the CAN bus and saw some pretty high numbers (210+) so I installed the center radiator (note that the display on the MFD showed 194 the entire time). Before the center radiator I had to short shift at 6K in order to keep the temps down. Will report back later on the success of the center radiator’s effectiveness during super hot July and August events. Fingers crossed...
When using your car for track days / racing the engine oil life is degraded much quicker due to several factors, one being heat. The oil also gets contaminated with unburned fuel much quicker due to very high and extended combustion pressures pushing fuel past the rings and into the oil pan. Extended high rpm’s also put more strain on the oil and breaks down the oil protecting film much quicker. Taking these factors into account you should change the oil out much more often than normal.
As far as a maximum temperature where the oil should be changed out, is impossible to say. We’ve seen extreme temps in some of our race teams engines and their oil was fine when tested. Of course they changed it our anyways (as they do every race) since oil is cheap compared to a new engine.
My suggestion is to start taking oil samples after every race outing or maybe once a month (make it consistent) and send to a lab for testing. This way after a while you’ll see a trend and can better understand what’s happening to the oil and inside your engine.

My modded 991.2 GTS would hit 235* on a hot (95+) degree day when driven hard using M1 0W40. I recently switched to Motul X-cess 5W40 and the highest I have seen has been 201* under similar ambient and load conditions. My observation has made me a believer in Motul oils. YMMV.

No experience here yet beyond my 450 Hp 991.2 C2S with X51. But my thinking is that when I do add a tune, I'm going to also add a 3rd radiator and a GT3 front bumper. Then it would also b ready for a wing, aerodynamics.
But a friend recently complicated my thinking, saying that additional PDK fluid cooling is more important than additional water cooling.
Anybody with any input on this? How is the PDK fluid cooled?
