First of all, congrats on having a 10 second car. That is a big milestone.
Next 129.21 Is a great MPH, however the milestone you want to chase is cracking the 130 MPH.
Then your own personal battle is to have both of them, in the same run. (A personal best Trap speed with your best time is a great personal goal, but not necessary. ) The MPH is about the Car. The elapsed time is about the driver.
But armed with your car does 129.21 MPH Trap speed you are now able to compare your car with every other one on the planet. MPH is the real proof of power. Far more accurate than any dyno.
There are many calculators that say if you have a 3,000 lbs car and can trap 130 MPH then your car makes 514 HP to the wheels. But none of that matters. The only real thing that matters is your Personal BEST MPH which so far is 129.21. Get back out there and nail that 130 MPH.
There is a drag strip about an hour from me. It is out in the desert (Not literally but it's damn hot) The only time it rains there is when I take my car's out there. But I will persist until I finally get a time for the GTS.
I'll try and get there this week. Wednesday or Saturday.
I know different calculators give different answers.
Trap
According to this you would need around 540 HP to get 130 MPH.
Yep thats a Porsche calibration e.g. only Porsche 718, 991 turbo charged cars and 991 GT cars are displayed and the line of best fit is calculated on this basis, the equation is directly derived from that. Porsche have amazing traction and launch control systems - that is why the drag community always believes they are under rated ringers - instead of rear weight bias and brilliant design and execution
I am so confused by this thread... why not secure your device?
if the road had an incline then why not go the other direction?
high altitudes help turbos and not hurt.
these are strong results, especially on these tires. Just own it and be proud of it. Don’t make excuses for what may come in dry, warm weather on some good tires.
Garfunkle: The device was secured for these runs and non secured for first runs. I never used the damn thing before and thought it would stay put. Dont worry, it is and will be secured from now on.
The road had s slight incline in one direction and a slight decline going the other way. I tested it many many times in both directions.
High altitudes do help turbos, but I live in NY and there is no high altitude here.
I'm not making excuses for anything, The car is not shifting precisely and I am telling everyone there is a problem with the PDK tune.
If the PDK tune is fixed I believe the numbers will be much better. Not an excuse, the car even with misshifts is a beast and apart from wide open race launch it drives like an animal.
Warm weather and good tires will certainly improve on these times even if the PDK tune stays the way it is.
A follow up to my situation.. Cobb went into my pro tune and essentially removed all of the PDK tuning. I will be doing runs in the morning and sending them back for review.
I will post the new Dragy results tomorrow in this thread. Lets see what the times will be..
Did a couple more runs today on Turbo S wheels with All Season Radials.. Not too bad, getting better but shifting problem still exists in 4th gear at redline..
