Suggestions for European delivery
For those that have picked up their car in Zuffenshausen, do you have any suggestions for a great euro delivery? Seems like arrival in the morning makes sense since the whole delivery process is estimated to be about 5 hours. The Graf Zeppelin Hotel that was recommended by my dealer is across the street from the train station. Is it reasonable to take the train from the airport to the hotel. Porsche provides transportation from the hotel to their facilities.
What regions did you drive through after taking delivery? What time of year was it and how loud did you stay? Any crazy weather that was not appropriate for the supplied tires? They will, if you request, temporarily attach the front plate instead of “drilling directly into the front bumper.” That sounds good.
Anything else that might be helpful.
Thank you in advance!

Two suggestions:
- Look in the ED forum (https://rennlist.com/forums/european...ce-center-236/)
- Click on "991TT" in my signature (it won't answer all of your questions but might give you some ideas...)

Arrive the day BEFORE your delivery date. It gives you a chance to get over a bit of jet lag, and allows for any problems or delays during your flights to your delivery city. Check out the European Delivery forum on RL. As I dont know if you’ve been to Germany and Europe before, making your way by car, I don’t know what to recommend to you. I lived in Europe for 4 years and had travelled to Germany many times over the last 40 years. I made list of things I wanted to do or see, and put myself in the capable hands of Sven Teuber of Fastlane Travel. They created a great itnerary including all hotels and special arrangements. Keep them in mind.

Do people recommend Leipzig or Zuffenhausen?
Is the track time worth the extra drive South to more attractions?
I always wanted to go to Lake Como, maybe there are some good drives form Leipzig that people would recommend?
Thanks

IMO, if you are picking up a Porsche Sports Car in Europe, you should, the first time, do Zuffenhausen. It's the home of Porsche. You'll see the assembly line your car was on. You can spend the afternoon after your ED in the Porsche museum. (Note answer to one of the OP's questions.) You can't do any of those in Leipzig.
Do your second ED in Leipzig...

If lake como is interesting to you, by all means GO. It's amazingly nice. The drive down through the alps (splugenpass route) is stupid beautiful. Go between may & mid Oct. Beware once you get to como that the lakeside road is very tight-esp when one encounters mopeds, bikes, tour busses & just know even your 911 will seem too large at times.
Do take the ferry that zig zags across the lake from stop to stop. Get off, spend some time walking & then hop back on. End up in bellagio, but don't take your car there. Stay near Moltrasio instead.

I never took delivery, but I keep a BMW motorcycle in Europe for my tours there.
Next summer will be my 25th year in a row, primarily touring the Alps. With some 240 different passes under my belt, I would say spend some time in the Dolomites. That is in the Cortina to Bolzano area.
