GTS vs GT3

I'm in the same boat Woodranch. Very happy with my GTS (and mine is one of the old low torque normally aspirated ones, a '16 model). I am really temped be some of the GT3T currently in the RL for sale section. I am just trying to grasp what I think will be about a $100K price delta to swap into the new model

2015 GTS here, love the car, plenty of power, great acceleration and comfortable daily driver, I don't care about track which I don't do anyway. I think GTS is the best Daily Driver money can buy when it comes to a Porsche experience.
Never drove GT3, based on what I read, I am going to say is why would I want more power when I cannot use all of what I have now. Stiff is not what I am looking for, I prefer comfort and handling balance.

Just sold my 2013 C2S and this is the same dilemma I have now. I have my sights on a 991.2 GTS. Will I miss the NA and just get a GT3? This will be a weekend car.

Ha - so true. Mine included. (Poser). Although I do take it to the mountains for intentional driving to nowhere, my car won't see the track. I just don't enjoy the track (flame away if you like but I'm just being honest about what I like) and love mountain driving and group drives with the top down.
When people talk about a GT3 in the 991 forum, the engine and not gearbox are the main points of discussion.... but such a small part to the equation.
The real magic in the GT3 which [unlike the witchcraft of an engine/exhaust sound] just can't be appreciated on the street and it's the suspension and the way the suspension is put together. if you track a car regularly then you know there are many more consumables and much more significant maintenance than a street car and the GT3 is built for this abuse. The geometry is different, the connectors and bushings are all different, etc. etc. This is why it's the ultimate race on Sunday, drive on Monday 911.

A base Carrera is just as durable as a GT3 for DE track days. Consumables are really no different, cost a little more on a GT3. But its not like other makes where rotors and calipers aren't up to snuff for some weekend lapping or you need larger tires to increase the contact patch unless you buy the top of the line performance model or need to add extra cooling. It's great out of the box.
I like the GT3 Touring. It's great on track, great for a weekend cruise and you don't have that huge wing.

“Well until you start tracking your GT3 than realize that you're the poser because the real track guys are hauling and tracking real race cars....

So true. If you’re not running in the advanced run group with roll protection, HANS device, and 5 point harness, searching for every second, a base Carrera will be all you can handle.

Absolutely love your GTS 96redLT4!
And it has a 5-lug wheels like mine had. My preferred setup.

I don't miss the NA one bit when driving my 991.2 GTS. I also have a 991.2 GT3, but the GTS is just as fun. In some ways more fun.

On smooth pavement at felony speed levels, the GT3 is certainly more fun. And who doesn't love that wing!
