Default Rennline phone mount location recommendation.

Ordering a Rennline phone mount. Looking for input on best placement. I'd rather not have it on the drivers side. I like the upper right side since it's a better line of view for Waze and the charging cable will swing to the glove box better. A little concerned about cup holder, but more about blocking PCM screen. I can live with the lower dash mount, but line of vision and cable don't work quite as well.

I have it on both my cayman and 911
on the 911 I have it in the position closer to the shifter and it works much better.
the other location blocks the cup holders and just generally gets in the way more often IMO

I have mine in the upper drivers side location. I just run the power cable from the center console and it hides next to the drivers seat so you never see it. Easy to touch the phone and doesn't interfere with the cup holders.

Does it block the PCM screen and can you see it easily behind the steering wheel?

I definitely couldn't use that position, because I use the cupholder for my phone...oh wait...

It doesn't block much. I mostly have Sirius XM on the screen. It will block the name of the song but I can move the phone down a little and still see. The metal plate on the back of the phone is good sized so the phone can move around quite a bit.

Top picture but favoring the drivers side. Pass side interferes with the cupholder

Not for that mount, but historically I've mounted my phones using a RAM suction mount up near the rear view mirror (on the passenger side of the mirror.) I mount it in landscape mode so same orientation as the mirror. My eyes are used to looking up there anyway and it's out of the way / doesn't block any view of the road.

I got one of these for Christmas. Contemplating the same thing. I was going to play around with positioning on Saturday.

I just relocated mine to the upper passenger side. I have to back out across a busy sidewalk into traffic and the phone in the drivers area blocked the screen. I couldn't wait to change it over. I have the car in winter storage, so I can't tell you how I like the new position right now. It couldn't be as bad.

The cup holders and I had a disaster in the first few months of ownership... so I swore to never use them again. See current beverage holder options for a safer alternative to spilling coffee on your console.
