Fidelity warranty from day one?

Fidelity warranty from day one?
Just informed that my new C2S is sitting in the showroom in VA beach. We are going there tomorrow. My SA advises to go with an extended Fidelity warranty right now. Intentions ARE to keep long term.
Thoughts?
What about tire and wheel protection?
I’m looking for some recent pricing discussion.
FYI the car was built around Halloween and arrived in RI on the ’Swan Ace’ in early December.

Sounds like your SA is trying to make a few extra bucks before Christmas. Maybe he gets a kickback from Fidelity or something.
Can't imagine why you'd want to get a third party warranty on a car that will be covered by Porsche for 4yrs/50K miles.

It’s our full intention to keep the car for a decade or more. The warranty he is offering is the same extended warranty that many on this site purchase before the factory warranty runs out. I had just planned on purchasing one in four years but he is telling me it’s cheaper now than it ever will be in the future.
The thought of a PDK failure or engine failure in 5 years is soul-crushing.

I hope you love the car and keep it for a trouble-free ten years or more. But don't get the third party warranty until your factory warranty is getting close to expiration. Waaaaaaaay too much can happen in the next 4yrs/50K miles.

I would never, never, never buy a third party warranty on a brand new car with full factory warranty. What if you drive it 3 years and decide it isn't what you had hoped and want top trade up or out. Do not waste or tie up your money now doing that. He is selling you something you really do not need at this time.
BUT, it's your money, do what you want.

@davashcow, you realize that the e.g. fidelity warranty starts the day you buy it, not after the much more comprehensive factory warranty expires. A 6 year after market warranty then gives you two years over the factory one.

Lots of plans change in 5 years. Put the money you would have spent in an investment of your choice and make your decision in 5 years. There is no doubt that your SA and the dealership gets a big commission. Data I have seen in the past said the profit can be 70%.

Have you read the PDK failure threads?

My SA was one, if not the best. I have ever dealt with, and he did not even mention it when we were doing the paperwork...that should be enough to skip it for now.
