The shop charged $320 for cat install and around $270 for the diffuser & air filter install. They sold me a BMC filter for $335 but you can order one from Walmart, of all places, for around $270 shipped. Nothing is cheap here in Orange County as is the case where you are. I started working on the cats myself but my ankle and back acted up. I probably could have continued but I just felt lazy. I found a very good shop here in O.C. and their shop techs & owner are as OCD with cars as I am, so it was an easy decision. FYI, the space around the muffler is tight. It would be much easier if you had a full size lift. It’s completely doable on jacks but I’m getting too old for this stuff. For me, it was $ well spent. Once my car comes back from PPF & tint, I’m going to install a radar detector my self (mirror wire tap) and I’ll be done with mods for a now. I’m going to enjoy my car for a while and if I get bored, I’ll look into a ECU tune and maybe aftermarket inter coolers.

I have some high temp paint already but I was also wondering about the adhesion to the muffler. Seems like it’s not a problem as yours held up ok.
The key is making sure you clean up the muffler super well. Hence, brake cleaner to make sure any oil is completely gone. So consider going over it first with standard soapy car wash, dry it off, follow up with brake cleaner, then finally spray paint. Rust-Oleum makes an automotive 2000F paint now. Back in the day, I just used BBQ spray paint rated for like 1200F.

I'm sure the products are great as I have some too. The experience I had with them as a company was terrible.

All this talk about our cats in this thread and you guys didn't check out our custom tip options? I must be doing a terrible job.. Here's the info guys : )

991.2 PSE Style Tips - Product Page To note, although it's not on our website I can have them PVD coated Satin Black for an extra $150, and I can do custom lettering on the single wall tip options for a $50 setup fee if you want to customize them.

The Akra tips have a larger opening/clamps to fit their muffllers, they will not fit the OEM exhaust outlets. I'm also in OC if you want to hear the Akra mufflers for comparison. Can you pm me the shop's name, I'm getting tired of crawling under the car too!

I absolutely love the look of the Akra diffuser. I didn't care for the bland plastic piece that Porsche slapped on a 6 figure car.
the akrapovic diffuser is so nice. what does that cost?

I got the glossy for $1,600. The matte is a couple hundred less.

How much bigger (diameter wise) are SOUL tips compared to stock? Keep your answer G rated, please.

Lol, well said! The factory set are an oval shape, roughly 3.5in tall and 4in wide. Our 4in tips are as wide as the factory ones but fill the gap a bit better

no issues other than figment during install which my shop sorted through and said not a big deal but they’re good. Sound is awesome and saved me $3-5k on getting a new exhaust cause I think it’s excellent. I did tune at same time so can’t comment on performance difference but I’d have to guess there is a significant improvement by themselves. I got the 4” tips too and love them. Got them without lettering and had my Glock guy send them out for black nitride finish. I’d highly recommend them. With the sound difference I’m guessing there is hardly any flow restrictions once the cats are out of the way.
