Thanks. I’ll mention it to the Porsche Assist guy if I call them out tomorrow.

Is the replacement/repair of a change over valve a big job?

The valve replacement is easy.
Getting to some of them is a chore, though.

I have yet to read of a single COV failure with the 991.2s - if it is indeed the case, I will be very curious to hear about it. Hope the OP keeps us posted!

Check under the engine to see if you see coolant residue anywhere. Many of these cars have suffered failure of the water pump.

After replacing 4 in 5 months, the last one dying after 100 miles, I called PNA and demanded they replace all of them. Dropped the car at the dealership. Took them 14 hours to change all of them out. 2 weeks later got a check from PNA for $1400 without even asking!

Correct. Yet to hear of a COV failure in a .2. Also, as someone else mentioned, the car runs hotter in normal mode than sport mode. 102C is a normal oil temp in non-sport mode.

I practically always run in Sport mode and was doing so when the oil temp climbed from the normal 90 degrees centigrade to 104, then back down again...

The latest:

Took car out for a spin this morning. In Sport mode. Same again. Warning appeared exactly as shown above by flgfish. This time the oil temp went up to 107 degrees centigrade.

Rang Porsche Assist. They sent round an AA van. That guy said nothing he can do apart from check coolant level.

He rang up to see if he could arrange a loan car for me, but was told it’s down to Porsche. Safe for me to drive car to my local Porsche Centre, but he didn’t recommend any longer journeys.

Rang local Porsche Centre. They eventually came back to me to say if I bring the car in tomorrow, then can have a look and lend me a loan car for the day.

I mentioned that it might be a faulty change over valve. They’re going to order in a part.

We’ll see...

That's good to know if the others on my car start to fail at some point.
