2018 J.D. Power Dependability rankings - Porsche ranks 2nd

The majority of current Porsches on the road are not 911s. Does anyone know if there is a Porsche model dependability breakdown? Are Macans, Panameras etc necessarily more reliable than 911s? Driving styles obviously affect dependability - thoughts?

Can speak of those other vehicles from first hand experience, but through my research of older cayennes, it seems the biggest issues are on the air suspension, but the drive trains are seem reliable with many folks over 100k miles.

In last year's study, I think Porsche overall was 3rd, but the 911 was the highest ranked individual car.

I don't understand how/why anyone buys just about *any* FCA product. They just aren't good vehicles on the whole, and anyone that does an ounce of research would know that.
Even my hardcore Jeep friends joke about their vehicles being unreliable pains in the ***, but their utility is truly outstanding, so it is worth it. I understand that.

My only Jeep was a well maintained Grand Cherokee bought from a cousin at 80k miles for $18k. After 80k miles and $14k repairs, i sold it for $3.8k and it needed another $6k in repairs.
Never again!

Wife's car is 2013 Lexus RX450h. Comfy and reliable. We just put gas in it and get the oil changed. My car is a 2017 911. I have had it in for a few problems related to the cooling system, but nothing major. I hope my 911 is through it's teething problems. I have to say that the service/loaner car experience at Lexus is way better than at the Porsche dealer.

I've never owned a Lexus but heard good things about their service and reliability. Porsche dealerships seem to be hit and miss from what I hear. I really could care less since I won't be getting my 911 serviced at the stealership. Hopefully, my car will be trouble-free per the JD Power jokesters. I take their findings with a grain of salt. They got one thing right...Chrysler/Jeep as dead last. I'll ride a BigWheel before I ever pull a trigger on their POSs!

Amazing. Porsche and Lexus lead the rest by a massive margin.
Lexus inspires me as much as a library of religious books does. But Porsche being essentially an exotic/performance/luxury brand renders its rating incredibly impressive.

As far as Jeeps go, lease and return after 3 years. Just hope you don't have to return to dealer too often. I think the Grand Cherokee is a cool SUV, not much else as capable in it price range.

Our Lexus RX450h is the older model which is less ugly. I can't stand the new ones. And yes they are boring cars, but that is fine. I had a Cayenne loaner a couple of times and never liked it that much. Trying to make an SUV sporty is not something I am interested in. I might be interested in a Macan in the future, but who knows. I really do enjoy the treatment from the Lexus dealer. Last time I took the car in, they had a line of nice Lexus loaner cars ready for customers. Last time I took my 911 in, they gave me some crappy rented Chevy through Enterprise. I always wonder if there is a big difference between Porsche dealerships owned by Autonation and dealerships not owned by them.
