I'm glad to report my 13 C4S CPO is going to be expiring because of mileage

It's been rock solid except for some COV's so I'm willing to drive my car until the cost to fix is not logical.

That's awesome!

I put 20K miles on my BGTS the first 12 months (Nov 17 - Oct 18). Buying my 991.2 last month will slow the mileage down on the BGTS though. The Boxster will be a weekend, autocross, and track day car now.

Don't make Porsche decisions based on Audi experiences.

My 2007 S4 Avant literally fell apart around 130k miles. Porsche makes a very different beast. I've got MT on both my Pcars and found the aftermarket warranty on my 993TT to be a complete waste.

You are truly missing out. Redlining a 911 is one of life's great pleasures. You don't have to be doing illegal speeds either - just drop it a couple of gears next time you're on a great road and feel the excitement.

These engines actually prefer to be run in the higher rev range. May actually help longevity to do so on occasion.

Odds are, if you hid $4,500 in your sock drawer, you'd come out ahead in 3-4 years, and have seed money for your 992 purchase. But not everyone rolls this way. And that's why insurance companies have HUGE buildings in every major city.

Some data points I got on Fidelity from one of the folks the board recommends for that provider... car is a 2015 C2 pdk, 54k miles.

$100 deductible, Platinum plans
5 year/60k = $11,138
4/48 = $9,279
3/36 = $6,873

$250 deductible, Platinum plans
5/60 = $9,216
4/48 = $7,748
3/36 = $5,853

Red Shield was cheaper, but none of the dealerships near me will take it. That's a sign...

Anyway, some reference points.

Based on Figfish's numbers, I need to edit the sock drawer idea.

Red Shield was $4600 or so for a 3/36 exclusionary coverage. That seemed good, until my local dealer told me they refuse to take it anymore & shared stories (with accompanying unpaid bills on his desk) where Red Shield drug their feet, flat out refused to cover, or dropped the client & did a partial refund (an expensive PDK swap)...

I wouldn't buy the extended warranty unless tracking it 10 times a year and launching it at numerous autocrosses. You have enough years and miles to be comfortable. Save the money. There will be alternatives to buying a new PDK in a crate, if yours does fail down the road.

But, take the previous poster's advice and get it thoroughly checked out b4 your CPO expires.
