Default Porsche winter tire package tire question

Can anyone tell me what make (Pirelli, Michelin, Continental, etc..) tires comes with the Porsche 911 19" winter tire package? On the Porsche website, they're simply listed as 235/40 R 19 92V M+S, and 295/35 R 19 100V M+S tires. Is 'M+S' the brand? If so, what is it? I've tried every kind of google search I can think of and everything is silent regarding the make of tire. Thanks in advance.

My understanding is it is whatever they have when they make them. I suspect with 19in you will get contis.

Probably better to buy a used set of wheels and buy your own tires.

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. These are actually used. Someone in my area is selling a set with only 2 months use for $2250. I think it's a pretty good deal since I'd be into it for approx $2K if I went through Tire Rack (or similar).

That is a good deal. Assuming they fit your car, I would jump on them. Who cares which tire is on them.

M + S = Mud + Snow, which is a rating, not a brand.

Just reach out to the guy and ask.

Which 911 do you have?

Just make sure they are the right offset before buying.

Wide Body vs Narrow Body

I bought a winter wheel and tire set from the dealer. The wheels were Carerra S and the tires Pirelli Sottozero.

+1....and factor into your cost/savings that if they come with the TPMS sensors that saves you another $300......I just learned that lesson the hard way putting winter tires on my extra wheels

Most dealerships have multiple options for "approved" snow wheel/tire packages. These options include Porsche wheels and frequently Victor wheels, which are what I chose. The dealership mounted Pirellis on these wheels.

That's a great price if they are Porsche rims. These are Tire Rack and Pirelli Sottozero.

To answer your original queation: Pirelli Sottozero is the only currently available NO winter tire that is the proper size for the 991 so it is a safe bet this is what you will get. That tire is great in the snow and cold dry roads.

My Turbo S winter package came with Michelin Alpines.
Great tire.

I guess I also won the tire lottery as my GTS came from factory with Michelin tires as well.
