Maybe someone else can clarify any effects.
Yeah. Hope someone can clarify. Was just in conjunction with PDK? But I definitely recall something about the Sports Chrono having some effect on the Sport Exhaust output to do with throttle blip. If not, you're very right to opt for the PSE without SC. Completely useless stopwatch just for vanity except trackers. Sport Plus mode no use to me, Sport sufficient and that silly little wheel nowhere near as easy to use as the Sport button in centre console.

^^This.^^

SC with PDK adds the Launch mode, while SC with 7M adds throttle blips on downshift and maybe on the 1-2 upshift if some of the posts here are correct.

Just to clarify, I did get the SC on the C4S I ordered, it's included in the Sport Pckg. But I agree with you view of the chrono features.

In reading forum posts, SC pops up as a desired option by many, for whatever reason. Porsche has done a good job of selling that feature (the car press always praise the option, which helps sales as well).

No blip on upshift, here’s a nice summary by “subshooter”: “Rev matching is awesome! You get gimmics like a G force meter (which is cool) and the point of relaxation of PSM is later which is nice. I can also record track laps on my sport screen and show the track outline as I drive it on the PCM. It's cool. My second favorite option after PSE. It adds more burbles on the PSE during over run and it just sounds better with PSE. A must for me.” It’s from this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/991/917861-is-sports-chrono-a-big-deal.html

I have 2 manual transmission 991.1s & miss it on the one that DOESN’T have it (but it had too many other ‘right’ options to pass it up). Good luck, it’s great! -Dom
