Default High mileage 991.1 C2S questions/conerns

Hey everyone!

So I bought my 2014 991.1 C2S with 70K miles CPO'd by the dealer for the next 2 years (yay!). The dealership has all the cars records and the person who had it before me was original owner and was a 60 year old man so he babied it and maintained it really well as the service records are all current.

So my question is -- what are some things I need to be made aware of for my model year and it's mileage since I will be tracking it and driving it pretty hard. I am not one of those guys that buy a 911 because Its my retirement car so it will be punished every time I drive her (in a good way lol).

Thanks for all your comments!

Pretty generic question. A lot of valuable information on the forum, so the answers to any concerns about your mileage/ model year are out there.

congrats on your car!

991.1 had change over valve issues-
https://rennlist.com/forums/991/8002...-on-991-a.html

some had pdk failures, some had coolant leaks, some have had deformed door molding.

that's about what I know.

Thank you for your insight.

You have nothing to worry about. Your car is bullet proof. At most, a change over valve (COV) replacement or a water pump.

70k miles is nothing.

I rather buy from a 60+ year old then someone my age. I will always run rings around someone who's 60+ years at the track... sorry I have more testosterone, its a fact. LOL!!

And older people drive sensibly when not on the track. Track use is very light compared to dallying it.

I on the other hand -- drive hard, shift hard, do canyon runs, etc...

... ah, I remember being young! Those were fun days when I thought (knew?) I was better than everyone else! Enjoy your car... drive the crap out of it and don't look back!

Add some testosterone.

I'm on Porsche #8, the one mechanical issue I think is way overlooked are the tie rods. So much money wasted on alignments and wheel balancing to fix vibrations occurring at highway speeds. If yours isn't rock solid at 80mph then check that first. Jacking up and shaking wheel side to side will not always tell if one is failing. If yours is solid, then skip over my observations and experiences.

If your car was well serviced and driven on nice roads and decent weather than 70k miles is nothing. You might want to look for coolant weeping from water pump. Make sure battery isn't too old. Otherwise keep running circles around us 58 year old dudes, we always appreciate a youngster with no fear leading the pack, your reflexes are best at avoiding the animal in the road and the cop with radar .
