Carrera T engine break-in?

The engine is the same as found in the base - read the country specific manual. Keep in mind you are breaking in the car - e.g. tires, bearings, brake, gears, diffs, suspension and the engine.

I posted my blackstone oil analysis report and breakin procedure in another thread. I think the data was useful

I've said this numerous times on this board. Engine break in is not measured in miles or Wheel revolutions. Its measured in engine revolutions. If you want to break in your engine sooner, cruise at 3500 rpm, not 1700. And turn off that stupid greenie auto start-stop function! Brief runs past 4200 rpm after warm up in lower gears will not hurt it It's the sustained high rpms in higher gears that can cause enough heat to damage a cold and /or new engine. Enjoy!

The nice people in Zuffenhausen explained that they pull a small % of the engines off the assembly line in order to fully stress test them inclusive of high RPM and temps (they do this with 100% of the GT engines). These engines are put right back on the line when finished (unless there’s a problem found of course). Their guidance was that the engines are ready to go from the start and a break in period is unnecessary. Take this all with a grain of salt as I have no way of validatiing the veracity of this info.
Obviously, the documentation is there and ignoring it won’t help during a potential warranty claim nor would the nice people at Zuff back you up in that unlikely scenario. It’s also likely that other things in the car would still benefit from breaking in (brakes, transmission, tires, etc.).
With all that said, I personally felt comfortable including the Ring as part of the break in at about 1000 KM.
I don’t think you’d go wrong following the docs to the letter if you’re worried, but totally agree with others that changing the oil early is prudent.
