How did you decide to purchase the 2016 GTS vs another car. Maybe you should sell the current GTS and give the money to your wife.

If $30K is a lot for you and the wife says no, what is the confusion? Go have a super nice and expensive dinner with the wife in your 2016.

You answered your own question. I underlined the key elements to jog your memory.

HA!. Nailed it. I say decision made. Plus...your existing car is totally nice. Invest the 30K into something else.

If your wife gave you an emphatic NO then move on and stay in the 2016. Not worth creating home strife over a car. If she is trying to help by telling you your '16 is fine and your still on the fence the answer won't come from this forum.
Drive them both which I'm sure you have or hope you have. Due to the NA and Turbo differences the cars do behave very differently. One of them must have spoken to you after driving. If the '18 didn't awaken in you some desire for the added push the turbos give and they seem the same then your answer is, not the time to change. If the '18 really opened up some real difference in driving characteristics then you know the decision.
If you are truly on the fence then stay where you are, if you want us to push you off, sorry that's not going to happen.
I had a 991.1 C4S which I loved and had transformed into the perfect car for me. I was ready to make a few more investments when I decided to drive my current TTS before any additional investment in the 4S. When I did I knew the TTS was going to be my next car and it was in my garage in less than a week.
You know what you want to do so stop looking here for reasons to justify. We can tell you about the differences in the 2 cars but only you know which one checks all the boxes.

My wife and I laughed hard at this one and I totally agree. Your heart says yes but your wallet (and wife) say no. I would love to upgrade my base 991.2 to a GTS but the ROI is not there and I just couldn't justify it.

I always am a firm believer life is too short. If you want a gt3 buy a gt3. You can always make more money, you can never get back time...

Exactly. You aren't comfortable spending the money and your wife says no. What extra info are you going to get from the internet?

Plus, it's not like having to drive a 2016 911 is a hardship...

Seems like the OP is looking to us to come up with the convincing justification to get his wife to change her mind.

Sorry, but I'm certainly not going to try to assist him with that!

I have posted 2 other threads, but I am thoroughly confused! There is so much give and take and not sure it is worth the extra cash. Faster car with the 2018 vs the 2016 NA aspirated exhaust. The cars are similarly built, so please all in this forum, throw your opinions in, before I make a mistake either way. Thank you!
I, as some others, provided my opinion on your "dilemma" in your thread #1. I will wait till your thread #5 to discuss it further

You haven’t given enough information. At least not in this thread. What is the MSRP of your car and what is the MSRP of the new one? What are the specs? And what is the purchase price and the trade on price? $30k might be a good deal or it might terrible. We have no way of knowing.

And I know you’ve already gotten crap about it, but if you start a thread and don’t get an answer, starting another won’t help. Bump the original with more information or thoughts. Or figure out why no one is responding.
