At delivery I requested that they not mount front license plate bracket onto front bumper and that they replace the amber side markers with clear ones.

Is it true that the OEM, Orange, lens fits flush but, the European, clear, LED replacements stick out a bit?

Some states also require amber reflectors on the front. PA is one of them. My car didn't pass inspection with clear lenses (some inspection stations are more "flexible" than others). Luckily I kept my amber ones and was able to swap them back.

There are 2 types of clear side markers. LED and non-LED. Non-LED ones are sticking out and LED ones are flush.

This is true, and part of the reason I don’t swap, but I have never heard of anyone else getting an inspection fail for it. BTW, I am probably the only one who actually bothers to read the inspection manual. If you are interested it is below (Pa is great about putting stuff online).

Simply a comment....

On my silver and grey caymans, I switched to clear because I thought it looked better. But on my white 911, I like the amber ones better. Strange.

I sold my amber lenses to a European Rennlister, for yuge money, because he wanted his car to look more USA.

To me it's colour dependent. On silver the clear look better. On others it's no big deal. I put clear markers in my old 997.2. It shorted out several times after the swap. My dealer did the swap. It was the only problem I ever had with that car. I don't change anything out anymore.

The photo I posted from my configurator shows clear on my Agate Grey C2S.
I think the clear look great on that color car.

The Orange probably would be OK but, I plan on buying the clear LEDs.
I think many have done the swap & had no issue with lights shorting out.
