Sigh. You're right, it's probably clickbait. Let's click somewhere else instead!

It was easy to find examples of people driving through water and killing their engines. It's a shame I found so many MBs, though.

Maybe I shouldn't drive in the rain. Oh wait - I live in Seattle. Dammit!

Well, I don't know about how deep in fresh water you can go, but here in Florida when the King Tides bring saltwater into the streets, up the drains and over the seawalls "Any saltwater is too much" . The smallest amount will be kicked up by the tires and splash the undersides causing corrosion. I had to replace all brakes on my last car after driving through some and not realizing it was salt water. If you do drive through any salt water immediately hose the wheels brakes, undercarraige etc. with tons of fresh water.

These are low slung sorts cars with oversized tires that sling tons of water. Driving through anything more than normal puddles is not wise never mind wading depth. Car can get swamped and worse swept away and then the party is over.

id bet about this deep. i live in Oklahoma as well. these guys have no idea how it can be sunny and 74 and then 9" of rain can fall on your way home from the office... I got caught once in my 14 C4S and drove in water that was up to the bumper for a short distance and it was fine.

I'd suggest to get one of these elephan racing kits (they add 2.25 inches of ground clearace), that will improve the wading depth of the car.
I'm planning that for the 991.2 4s I wanna buy
Tallest tires would improve that, but also you won't get the 911 handling, so I wouldn't change those.
Considering the exhaust, I'd say no more than 9 inches stock and 11 with that lift kit.

I should show this thread to my 17 year old daughter. She wonders why it should be important that we can write and speak well.

Here we have a group of presumably educated and evolved people discussing $100,000 sportscars and the thread hit the ditch directly because of a misspelled word.
