You've gotta keep the lightweight glass on a Carrera T (no wiper). While I actually like the look of a wiper, I wouldn't give up the uniqueness of "gorilla glass" on a sports car. It's fun to tap on the lightweight glass when you are describing to others what is special about the "T" - as long as they don't ask "how much lighter" it is. :P

You absolutely can delete lightweight glass without taking the wiper. (In the USA) True, they did change something on the configurator...You can trick the configurator into it by adding the rear wiper and removing it. Delete lightweight glass will remain. Otherwise, they can configure the car this way through the dealer computer without issue. I went through it item by item on the dealer computer to make certain nothing else was missing on the porsche.com configurator. I found nothing else. This is for a '19. Locked 9/28 Goes into the bodyshop tomorrow.

I have tp keep a rag to wipe the morning condensation before I get in and backout everytime . Or I just try and back into spots and my driveway more often.
Anyone drive in light snow? I assume over a certain speed its clear. But a stop and go on a long commute must surely block the rear, no? unless the defroster can handle it.
guess I will find out later in the year - my first 911. I would not mind a rear wiper. minor gripe though.

I think the defroster is good to have regardless. If I am going to miss it only because of the T and light weight glass. which only comes in the GT2 RS or T

For those on the fence...
I searched a lot on the rear wiper before buying my 991.2. I planned to use the C4 as my DD in cold Prairie winters (-30c) with snow, slush, rain, etc.
I came from a Golf R and it really was useful on it since the design causes the rear window to constantly be dirty. Therefore, I thought I might still would need one on my C4 in winter and that I would regret not having one.
I wanted to pass along for anyone that is on the fence that I have not missed it for one second. Not once. Not in -35C weather, 20cm of snow days, 80kmh snow and wind days, melting slushy messy days...not once. I have not ever looked out the rear and thought wow, I cannot see a thing I better pull over. It has been a complete non factor. When I was looking for a 991.2, the wiper became a huge must for me, so much so that I thought I better build a new one so I could spec it, since finding one with a wiper is not easy. Certainly during one winter and a wide array of weather conditions I have proven at least to myself that it is not needed at all.
