Default Door window rubber seal worn/torn

I noticed my 2014 c4s window rubber seal is torn on both sides. Anybody encountered same issue? Anyone know if this should covered by the warranty?

Happened on my previous ‘13 and replaced under cpo warranty. Make sure the window is properly adjusted while they are at it as that is most likely the cause. Had to get mine replaced twice as they did not adjust window the first time.

Mine looks the same. Dealer wouldn't CPO it. Part is around $250 and it's apparently several hours of labour.

When the door is closed and the window seals automatically up into the roof pillar frame it is stretching this rubber gasket which is very thin. Looks like Stuttgart needs to put a little more R & D into this area...

got mine replaced under warranty. took service a whole day. something to do with adjusting the window alignment after replacing the rubber. service also mentioned this may not be warrantied a second time as it is natural wear and tear but i guess we will see when it happens.

I called my local dealer and spoke with one of service advisor and was told that it's not likely to get it replaced under warranty due to wear and tear. Maybe I will try different different dealer and see if they are willing to cover it.

Complete BS - these rubber pasts should not be wearing apart after 4 years. They seem to last forever on $35K cars, why are they coming apart on $100K cars?

Totally agree. The car is still under 20k miles and the issue is on both side. Is my window alignment are off causing the rubber seal broke?

My car has 18K miles, is garaged at home and at work, and the driver's side is doing the same.

Same on both sides of mine but I'm not going to worry about it.

i think its a design issue. the tip of the rubber constantly rubs against the frame of the car when opening and closing, and to add the glass also constantly pushing up on it will cause the rubber to wear. if your dealer doesn't warranty, so them the rennlist threads. plenty of people have gotten these replaced under warranty. porsche cannot warranty some car and not others.

This will help prevent rubber weatherstripping issues:
