First off, I need to give a big thanks to the Rennlist forums! I listed and sold on the Rennlist Marketplace my Racing Yellow 2012 991.1 Carrera S basically overnight to another member. Also, found my new 2018 Carrera T courtesy of this forum as well!
Anyway, I need to find a shipping company to deliver the Carrera T from the dealer in Santa Barbara, CA to Nashville, TN. The dealer referred me to Inter City Lines, so have a quote from them (they seem to have a good rep).
Before I book, I'd just like to hear anyone else's recommendations for excellent transport companies.
If price matters try uShip, which I have used a couple times for both cars & motorcycles. Otherwise, I have used Intercity and Reliable and both were good but it all depends on the driver you get...some really care about their cargo and others not so much.

At the least, you can use uShip to get a typical price, altho I've found their estimate to be a bit optimistic. I would ship open carrier, but that's just my opinion. You're probably looking at a low of $1000-1200 for open transport, and at least double that for enclosed. I say that based on my experience shipping my Porsches back and forth between Orlando and Chicago. Each year. Maybe the longer haul East-West routes are different. So i might be off.
I've used Plycar. Actually Porsche enlisted them to move my 2015 GT3 from davisville, RI to tacoma , WA. Car never went to the selling dealer in PA. Courtesy delivery.
No issues. They are here at Rennsport VI in a booth at Laguna Seca.
I actually did something like that: I told a potential buyer that if he bought the car I would pay (reimburse) for his flight so he flew in but did not wind up buying it. The cost of the flight was pennies in regards to the price of the car.
Anyone on the east coast needs a car driven somewhere with kid gloves I will do it cheap. Room/board/flight or car rental (and I have a special one way rate with no drop off fee).
Just have the dealer set it up. That's what I did for my 991.2. This way they can arrange it so you don't need to and since it's a dealer, they ship cars all the time.

Yeah I wanted to do that but they refused. Said that it is on the buyer and all they can do is make recommendations...
I've noticed a lot of the recommendations above are brokers. I've heard that brokers are a bad idea (typically from the non-brokers). Is this just a scare tactic or is there a real reason I shouldn't consider a broker?
