I have had a Macan and a Macan S as loaners. Usually max of 2 day wait to get service with a loaner.

If this were an integral part of their sales strategy, dealers wouldn’t stock base models for loaners.

Loaners are super important. I had a 718 Boxster S loaner once and had the time of my life. That experience is what convinced me to finally trade in my Macan and move from my history of 4 doors and get a Porsche sports car. Enter, 911....

Since then it's always base Cayenne crude drivetrain snails. The first couple of times were cool, I actually had some fun on the canyons and then on little "off road" patches, but after awhile they get boring. And yes, I acknowledge how ridiculously spoiled and privileged one is to be in a position to find a Cayenne loaner mundane.

.... Oh, I also had a Panamera a few years ago as a loaner. Too big for me to want to buy, but as a luxo barge with sports car roots I LOVED it, it actually turned my entire opinion around on Panameras. It felt very rich and with a sense of occasion compared to my Macan S.

The way it used to be is that your loaner was at par with your vehicle. I always had a 997 loaner when mine was in for work.

Now the bottom line is more important than customer satisfaction. When I get the survey I will mention this again.....crickets.
Dealers are such idiots. These cars sell themselves. The loaners they provide should be the next step up from your current Porsche model, and they should do that as a matter of policy.

When I ordered my GT3, I noticed the dealer had a few Accords on the used lot. He said they buy them to use as loaners, then sell them afterwards.

I'm ok with any Porsche loaner, especially since our cars are 2013s we bought elsewhere.

All base Macans all 2-3wks out. If I could get a loaner 718 I'd be giddy.

I usually get a Boxster or Macan as a loaner. Have not seen a 911 in the loaner fleets near me. I will say that when they gave me a Boxster loaner with a PDK a few years ago, it prompted me to trade my 997 for a 991 with the PDK so the wife could drive the 911. So, it does work. Now the wife is history and I should probably trade back for a 7MT ... LOL.

It's literally a months-long wait to get a loaner at the Ferrari dealer ... and then you get a Maserati Ghibli. They had like 3 in the fleet. Count your blessings ; )

What should the customer with a GT3 or GT2 get as a loaner then?

I have a C4 GTS, what should hey have for my loaner?

The follow up is then what business purpose does it serve to then have to discount the demo when they easily could have sold for full price?

Oh tell me about it, my Audi dealership tells me no loaner if your car is over 4 years old (2014 or older) doesnt matter if you are spending $5k on a repair/service......I was shocked.....since I have an A6 and I was about to bring it in for a recall job and they said no loaner

My point for "on par" is if you have a 911 you get a 911, even if you have a Turbo S you should get at least a base.

Does the customer have any power anymore? Isn't it us that have the $$ to buy these things? If you don't voice your displeasure you'll just get taken advantage of going forward.

I guess I'm on my own here.....that's OK. I've trail blazed many times in my life.

WTF? Used cars? That's a new one.

What dealer in Houston did you use?

I've had a couple of Cayennes as loaners, but last time the car was in for a week with a coolant leak and I got Uber instead.
