Default Error message: Possible R Gear Fault, PDK skipping

This evening I did a hard pull in automatic mode. Shortly after I smelled something - hard to describe, maybe a burning smell. Not long after I get the message "Possible R Gear Fault Driving Permitted", and then the car starts skipping gears. It would go from first to third to fifth and to seventh but would not go into 2nd, 4th or 6th even if I tried to manually switch there. On the way home it wanted to stay in 7th even though I was only traveling maybe 40mph. Of course I'm going to take it in, but has anyone seen this?
My car is brand new with only 1000 miles = my18 C2S pdk

Tks

So I restarted car to see if maybe it would clear, only to get an additional new message "engine control fault, consult a workshop, driving permitted".

Today its driving normally, though I have yet to try to push it really hard again. Also both faults messages have cleared themselves. Not sure if I should still take it in or not. What I may do is push the car hard tomorrow and see how it does.

Take it in and let them test it. They should be able to read the error codes.
also, always take pics of all error messages

thats what warranty is for
