Default Engine lid release

hey guys, kinda stuck at the moment and needed some help.
I’m pretty sure the cable that releases the engine compartment lid tab broke off the motor and it won’t let me lift that up.
I saw the emergency cable above the rear passenger tail light. But if that tab is broke. It won’t release the lid.
Is there any way I can pop that open?

or do I have to just go into the dealer?

Thanks for the links.
I tried searching but couldn’t find anything

I have to figure out a way to fish my finger back there or use that bike think he was talking about.
There is literally no room to go back there with the engine cover in the way

I'm not saying it's the problem on yours, but a similar thing happened on the front lid release on my '15 C2S when it was a year old. I could hear the solenoid operate, but it would not release up to open. It was under warranty so I took it in. They returned it shortly. They said it just needed a spot of grease in the latch to release properly. I traded it at 3+ years and it did not happen again.
