Default Could have been an expensive week

Brought my car in to the dealer this week to have the following done under the CPO Warranty:
  1. Both Door Panels Replaced
  2. Rear Spoiler not sitting flush
  3. Engine cover Struts replaced
  4. WF86 Re-program DME
If it wasn't covered it would have cost me $6123.00

I didn’t realize there was something they could do about rear spoiler not being flush - I always accepted imperfections back there as “par for the course”. Were they able to get it pretty straight?

Also, what’s “WF86 Re-program DME”?

Good info, thanks for sharing! -Dom

The door panels on the 991's are known to warp by the top of the panels and the window.

The door panels are a common issue .(and probably 2/3s of that bill) but don’t worry about it too much if you don’t have CPO - dealers will often do some sort of “goodwill” if you have the problem, I had mine replaced by dealer for free a few months after warranty expired and there are plenty of other stories on here about people getting it goodwilled even after a year +..

WF86 I was told improves communication between the DME and the Transmission.

The rear spoiler not sitting flush, they replaced the entire spoiler mechanism.
you could look down the inside of my spoiler on the drivers side and see that the spring popped. They did not fix the spring they replaced the whole spoiler assembly
Spoiler 991-504-041-04 This is a $2000 part
