Hi Bob - Yeah the Monroney shows it included in Premium Package Plus but on the build sheet it shows as XEY thus you should be good. The Monroney also shows Premium Package Plus as $3970 but then on the LED bullet it shows $745.

Forgot to ask, does it seem I should not have ordered the option? I don't want to waste $2,770 for an option that is already included in the package!

Both my Macan Turbo and my 991.1 C2S had the HID PDLS. My new C2S Endurance Racing Edition came with every bell & whistle, including black LED PDLS lights. They do.look great but being an engineer i would want to see the lab test results b4 making any hard judgements.
I generally don't drive my Porsche at night unless it's a PCA or other sports car event - so i do occasionally drive them at night. i don't notice much difference. The LED's might be a little brighter and also seem to be a better color temperature. And one would expect their current draw is less. That's where i would come from on this...

Sorry to ask again but it appears there are 2 types of LED headlights on the 2019 991.2 Targa GTS, as I think it says on the configurator? One has a Black outer ring and one has a Gray outer ring, right? I need to know since I selected the Premium Package Plus, which says it has LEDs and the separate LED headlight option under the Exterior options.

I can discern no significant difference between my '15 MDX with LEDs and my 911 or my wife's LandRover with HID. I do know the LR4 HIDs had one bulb burn out after 15 months (but her previous LR3 went 10 years with no HID problems, so YMMV).

If LED was a $500 up charge it would probably be worth it to me.

Just my $0.02.

If all you want is black vs silver trim around the headlight, go with HID and get the metallic black trim film from KI Studios. A shi*load less money than the LED’s. If you want LED’s to begin with, get em and they’ll come with the black trim rings. If you want silver trim rings and LED’s then you are SOL. I have HID lights with the KI Studios trim and couldn’t be happier.

I saw the xenon on the carrera T in person today and ordered LEDs but not the black ones. The Black ones are $700 more and actually look like the car has bruised eyes

To each their own - no decals, no Gray and no Silver - Porsche optioned Black LEDs are the only option. I plan to spend everything I have and leave $1 for everyone to fight over, and paying for factory parts the way I want them is a no-brainer to me.

2nd thread I've seen where confusion about the gray vs. black LED lights has arisen. For some models, a C4S for example, LED lights are around $2800 and the black version is around $750 more. When you get LED in the premium package plus, you can still check the box for black and pay that $750 difference. For the GTS, I thought that black was the only option. When I was speccing my GT silver 2017 I thought silver was one of the colors where the black rims around the LED lights actually looked worse and went with gray. Believe it or not, this was one of the things that made me choose a C4S over a C4GTS. When I play with the configurator for a 2018 GTS now, the premium package plus includes LED lights, but the checkbox for black LED lights no longer cancels the premium package plus and instead adds $2770 to the tally. Can you really get gray LEDs in a GTS now? And pay way, way more for the black LEDs? As others have suggested, I suspect a configurator bug. The black trim is the GTS signature look.

By the way, I love the LED lights and have zero regrets. I just wish the cornering lights were better - the LED cornering lights on my Macan are superior to the 911.

The configurator is for the 2019 MY now. If you order the Premium Package Plus for the GTS you will get the LEDs headlights with the Gray outer rim, and it you want the Black outer rim you need to order the stand alone option; I verified this over the last couple of days. The cost of the package is less for the GTS than other models thus the reason for the Black LEDs to cost more.

Sorry Bob, was on a Porsche drive and hadn't checked in. Seems you figured it out. This would explain why mine shows an extra $700 like others have said for the black added to the LED.

I have HIDs on my 991.1S but both my Audi and my Honda Clarity EV is fitted with full LEDs.

I must say the LEDs are brighter, better color and looks way cooler. But is not a HUGE diff.....is it wirth close to 3k? Well thats a personal preference.

I did insist on having the LED option on the Audi A6 because it looks soooo much better with the 'R8' like LED headlights.

No problem, it was a big concern being that my freeze date was this past Friday, even though I can probably make some changes until the status goes to V250. But yes, all is well and once I discovered that other models have different prices/options it began to make sense.
