Default Considering 2019 991.2 Carrera 4 purchase

Hello everyone, new to forum and first post. I’m located in central Florida. Considering the purchase of a 2019 Carrera 4. Have driven several vehicles at the local dealer (911T, Cayman, Carrera 4S) manual and PDK.

Options desired:
7M
Prm. Pckg. 14 way seats/standard leather
Sport Chrono
Sport exhaust
Multi-function wheel
SS sills

Sales rep has initially offered -2% MSRP, claims of -7% + discounts are in the web. Also found a figure for dealer cost but its accuracy can’t be verified. No serious price negotiation yet.
Carrera 4’s in stock in SE USA are mostly Targa models. Order would have to be taken by the dealer for my particular purchase.

Since delivery would be made at the Porsche Center/Atlanta, an out-of-state purchase may be an option, though sales tax may be an issue.

I would appreciate any feedback on price/options/delivery.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 2018 C4. I ordered it with European Delivery. A C4 is a VERY hard allocation to get. It's hard to get only because Porsche doesn't make many of them, not because the car is in high demand. When I got mine, there were only 3 allocations available in the entire country. My dealer had to make a trade with another dealer to get me the allocation. Good luck getting an allocation.

I got 5% off MSRP plus Dealer paid European Delivery fee of $3k. It was a fantastic deal particularly since the dealer had to make a trade. However, I was a personal friend of the SA and had bought cars from him before.

I like your options. I spent about 25k on options even with a 7MT. I really liked the two tone black/Bordeaux full leather, heated and cooled seats and Bose etc. I really liked the look of the wide body but didn't want all the HP of a GTS so I optioned it exactly like a GTS (within available options) but with a Base engine. I didn't even want the AWD but I had to have the wide butt.

GTSLook-a-like options:
WideBody: C4.
SportChrono Package
SportExhaust System incl. Tailpipes in Black
PorscheDynamic Light System (PDLS)
TintedTaillights Exclusive $660.
WheelAccessories XDK Wheels Painted in Black Satin
ExteriorCWL "PORSCHE" LogoPainted black

It's easy to buy Porsches out of state from my experience and have it delivered to any dealership especially with a PEC or ED delivery. I did it with my last two. You only have to pay the tax in the state that you reside in and the dealership (if they are squared away) can easily make these arrangements.

P.S. A Targa 4 is not a subset of the Carrera 4.

Send me a PM if you are interested in ordering, especially due to where you are located. I know what dealer you are talking to so don't waste your time with them anymore.

I just talked to my friend, who is a SA, and he said there are no C4 allocations in the entire country but he has others, and he is very close to you. If you cannot PM email me: blackbirdbobz@gmail.com

My advice would be not to get a c4 in florida. Just get rwd and michelin ps4s which are good in the rain.

Another update: I just talked to him again and he said if you are dead set on a C4 he "might" be able to get one from Porsche as his dealership is one of the best and gets rewards, etc. Again, email me and I will explain.

Go for a Carrera T....no idea why you'd want a AWD in Florida!

Why AWD?

I'm sitting in my house as heavy rains are pouring outside. Florida as you may know is either tropical or sub-tropical, either way it rains over half the year. Lately we have been getting rain in the winter dry season more so than before. Right now we have a tropical depression working its way up the Florida west coast, heavy rain and affecting us on the east coast.
This car will be used, daily if needed. Owned and own AWD vehicles. When I hit standing water on the road, AWD gives you an extra margin of safety, traction for all conditions.

For all intents and purposes, it works when needed. If it isnt needed it doesnt provide any significant function. If you drive in snow, or slick surfaces or steep hills then it serves its purpose. I want to have it when and if I need it. Same with my 4Matic, you cant buy the car w/out 4Matic

I am in Florida as well and can attest to the rain we get...we are only the Sunshine State some of the time! And AWD does help. It is not a bad idea to get ideas on the forums but it is your money so order what you want!

My ML 350 is the diesel 4Matic, was only $1500 more when I bought the truck and I wouldn't want it any other way. It is rock solid in any weather and the diesel is a dream to drive (current dieselgate issue notwithstanding).

The road to today has been nearly 50 years in the making. I've owned quite a few cars of all shapes and sizes, and I remember seeing through the years the 356's, 911's 912's, 914's, 928's on the road and briefly drove some but never owned one.
Fast forward to today, 2019 Carrera 4 optioned just as I wanted is on a signed order with deposit.
Many thanks to Bob Z. for his knowledge and referral, right place, right time.
Will post the progress throughout the process.

Thanks again Bob Z.
